Sora-The-Runaway

I've got a couple updates for Fixer-Upper coming tomorrow, so y'all keep an eye out.

Sora-The-Runaway

In lieu of not having updates aside from what's already scheduled, during my time off instead of drawing my covers, I will be making new ones digitally. I just wanted to let y'all know in case you come back and visit my page to find it changed. It will be the only thing changing in my time away and I just wanted to make sure y'all knew. Alright, hope y'all have a great time reading and I'll be back with more stories after my break.

P.S. As previously said, I will be finishing Fixer-Upper before I leave for a bit, but that's all.

Once Fixer-Upper is complete, I will be taking at least a two week vacation from this platform. When I come back, I will let y'all know what I have decided to do with my future on this forum and go from there. During those two or more weeks, please just give me some time to figure out what I'm doing and I promise to come back with a more level head. Thank you and happy reading.

@elMohro Thanks for that. After thinking all day, I just need a short break to get my head in order. I'll be back. I've decided at least that much. I just need time.

I've been on here for nearly four years now. The largest amount of reads I've gotten is only 16k with the others paling in comparison, I've never been featured despite my best efforts in joining the writing contests and my work doesn't get much interaction anymore aside from my loyalist of followers. I may need to take a step back and evaluate whether or not I will even continue when I'm done with Fixer-Upper. I'm sorry if this comes as a shock to those of you who have stuck with me so far, but I just don't see the point in continuing when no matter how much work I do, I just can't be heard on here or anywhere else. I'll be leaving my current content up and continuing with Fixer-Upper, but from then on I'm not sure if I'll ever add anything else. I know people strive for their dreams for years, but I've been doing so for over a decade, obviously not just on here, and have very little to show for it. That's discouraging, but also humbling in a way as it's opened my eyes to what it all ultimately means. With my disability, I thought writing could truly become a profession, though I'm fairly convinced that isn't the case now. Hope y'all do well and enjoy what I have here already and the ending of Fixer-Upper. Good luck to all of my mutuals and followers who also write and hope things go well on your end. Keep striving and growing your platforms and voices. Never settle and always remember your stories matter. Happy reading.

          Sincerely,
          Elaine.

P.S. I'd like to specifically thank @loiosh @jeslynelli and @tokinepark for their continued support throughout my time here in case I do decide to leave. It's been so very appreciated and I cannot stress that enough. Thank you.

@Sora-The-Runaway I understand that. By all means, take some time away and see what happens and how you feel. I hope to see more from you in the future though!

@Loiosh I appreciate the kind words, but nothing I've written in the last year has broken past even 1k views. I maybe get a few hundred and you're the only person who even comments anymore. Not even my only friend, as supportive as she is, will read my work. Thanks for everything, but I think this was just what was meant to happen. I hope things continue going well on your end. You deserve it. And don't worry, I'll finish Fixer-Upper so you can read the ending. I just don't know if I'll go beyond that point afterward. Thanks.

@Sora-The-Runaway It really does suck trying to get traction on here. Sometimes I think it is pure luck, because I know I never figured it out, even if it appeared that way. I would suggest that you don't stop writing, even if you're just doing it for yourself, as you have a wonderful writing style and keep making wonderful characters and stories to fall in love with.

@Loiosh Which one? If you mean the worst to hit in recent years, Harvey, then it's still technically recovering. Some buildings are still being restructured and certain places are left in shambles, but the real travesty was the insurance companies. They refused to pay what was promised, so that's why some places are still under construction, but the culture is still thriving. People from Galveston and the surrounding areas are tough. Resilient. I go throughout the year and enjoy every minute. Plus, partially growing up nearby taught me what to expect.

Howdy, I'm finalizing a few details on my next 2nd Ave novella, which should be dropping sometime next week. Hope y'all enjoy the next tale in the series and be ready for another CountryCore novel once we've wrapped on Fixer-Upper in a couple/few weeks. I'll post its coming soon synopsis soon and just an FYI to all the beach lovers, we're going to Galveston! Happy reading and thanks for the support.

@Loiosh Yeah, the sharks can be bad depending on which beach, but I've never met anyone who does that. That's really dangerous, actually. The jellyfish are a pretty big issue too. They're at every beach and scary at the drop off point.

@Sora-The-Runaway I remember a guy telling me that he used to take fish guts out on his surfboard there to chum for sharks for the fishermen on the shore. That was a little insane

@Loiosh Yeah, it's a pretty amazing place. I've wanted to set a CC novel there for a while, but now I have a story I hope does the area justice.

So, back in 2022 I sent The Ranch Hand and Mr. Quaid to Bold Strokes. Obviously, neither was up to cuff and both have gone through extensive editing since. Still, I fear I'll never be published, though I kind of want to try again. After over a year, I'm considering sending Freedom's Horizon or Arcane Sequence: 1987 into an open call LGBTQ+ publishing company at some point as it is still my dream. Regardless, I'm not sure I can do it. If y'all haven't read either, I'd really appreciate y'all giving one or both a try and letting me know if it's even worth it. If you have, I'd like your opinions as well. I doubt I'll ever be published like I dream, but I feel trying at least once more in a way I can actually afford will probably be my only chance at doing so, despite its very small possibility. Anyways, if I could get your opinions on my writing -- anything that may need improving or particular issues y'all might have with my stories -- I'd really appreciate it. I know it's a long shot, but I feel like if I just give up that would be worse.

Anyways, sorry for the long announcement and thank you all for the continued support. Happy reading.

Forgot to mention, but would anyone be interested in a spinoff series spawning from my supernatural Bound Trilogy? I'm considering revisiting the world and possibly adding to the folklore, so just lemme know of that'd be something y'all would like and shoot me anything else y'all wanna discuss! Alright, see ya tomorrow and happy reading!
