Hello there, 

My name is Shayleta. I am a 19 year old that lives in a town nobody has heard of in a state nobody can remember in the middle of the Midwest. 

I have always loved to read! 

And I have been writing since the fifth grade. A long time, I know.

I have always been self conscious about my writing, and some people, I am close to, have always told me that I should give up on writing. And for a long time I did. But I kept writing in secret, and now I want to release some of my work! 

At the beginning of my senior year, I decided to take an ap english class. A couple of weeks ago, we had to submit a short story. She gave us a writing prompt and we had to build off of it. Out of curiosity I asked her to give me her honest opinion of mine. She read it the next morning, and that same day in class she came to me and said, "I am both amazed and aghast at your work. Please tell me you are writing fiction." I told her yes, and she said, "Good, it would be a shame if you didn't use your talent." And after that, I felt a spark ignite in me that I should put out some short stories, and maybe a book or two. We will see!
