    Envy - of angels, of innocence, of the unattainable

They drink it like communion.
They beg for it on their knees and curse it with their last breath.
Because love, in my world, isn't perfume and butterflies.
It's the burn after the bruise, the knife that doesn't kill, the prayer that damns.

It's not the opposite of hate.
It's the thing that survives it.
