Because I loved serving as a Peace Corps teacher so much at Holy Cross Mission, I began the story there.
Every afternoon we had tea and chat on the porch adjoining Holy Cross Monastery.
So I and my friends are in that first chapter for nostalgic reasons, discussion what's going to happen to the baby girl that Brother Kevin gave the name Margaux Dubonnet.
My real experiences in Africa are woven into the story, and some real people inspired some of the characters.
