It's a little long in the making but Chapter 11 of The Outer Edge Anthology is here. It charts the rise of Honesty Red Shoes, as seen through the eyes of an Automaton. Influenced by her Spirit Guide, the Automaton has developed a bond with Honesty, and become her protector.
          
          Following on from her fairy tale experience in the World of Snoz, Honesty is inspired to follow a path which leads this humble farmer's daughter on a moral journey, some might say a pilgrimage. During her journey of discovery, she becomes a beacon of inspiration to other parentless children in an evolving world, led by children.
          
          With the aid of their Spirit Guides, the children have been charged to create a new and caring society, unlike the dog-eat-dog society encouraged by their forebearers.

Sadly, this is Island 6 the last of the Shiver Me Timber’s six island challenges which I have really enjoyed despite knowing I have little to no chance of winning due to my Island 3 submission going astray.
          
          So, I’m going to make the most of the final challenge and have experimented by capturing all three of its choices in one story, which is complicated by the fact that @flashfic prompt is limited to 500 words.
          
          But there is some good news, I will easily meet the max limit of 1000 words set by the prompts of @humor and @sport.
          
          Well, as always I hope you take the time to read and enjoy my flash fic story ‘Kraken an Egg Yolk Pie’ and look forward eagerly to your comments. Even though I said the same words when publishing Island 5, it must have fallen on stony ground as no one appears to have listened.

As you can see this was written a couple of Halloween season ago, whilst the Poets Pump was sadly wilting on the vine. I have no idea if the challenge came to a conclusion but judging by the lack of readers I would guess. So, I've decided to resurrect the story which was a delight to write and got some feeling of my chest. Enjoy Steve

To be honest, I thought this challenge had made it impossible for me to follow the original Flat Earth theme, but it seems I was wrong, it might be weird, but it fits and may even be classified as funny, please enjoy your read.
          
          
          Not being strictly bound by the rules I feel a sense of relief and am able to deviate slightly from what I perceive to be a true classic fairy tale and base my story on a version of an early modern fairy tale that is a mere one hundred and twenty-three years old.

Welcome to my fourth submission of the Shiver Me Timbers Challenge, it’s been an interesting journey so far and am managing to stick with the An Odd Sea Anthology theme. The further I venture into this spoof the funnier it gets; humour is not a writing style that comes naturally to me but here it’s flowing.
          I chose the @lbgtq Choice C simply because it was nearest to my direction, and hopefully, my humour doesn’t offend in any way as that’s not my intent.
          
          As a matter of interest, Queen Conches are highly prized shelled molluscs from the Caribbean where only a tiny few yield some of the most valuable pearls in the world and even their shells can have gemstone quality.

Welcome to the third chapter of the Shiver Me Timbers challenge.
          In this chapter, the gods send An Odd Sea and its dysfunctional crew travelling through time to Island 3 of an alternate dimension.
          
          What was once a high-technology world is now in a state of apocalyptic decay, its Hybrid Vegetable men have wilted on the vine and none of them has survived.
          
          The island is ruled by a race of war-like Amazonian women, and with the aid of a confused or confusing God, I'm not sure which, the crew must help the Amazons rebuild their civilization, the seed was sown by a @WattPadMilitaryFiction prompt.

This Smackdown task is to write a short piece of 500 or less, that consists only of dialogue, which is not my forte.
          
          It must also qualify as historical fiction and contain a mythical creature, I'm a bit close to the line here and trying desperately to stick with my Flat Earth theme, it's become a little ridiculous.
