I write what is classed as poems on here, that’s the closest match available. But I wouldn’t at all class myself as a poet; first of all I have never even read a published poem! Personally I don’t much care for great swathes of poetry techniques, I do have a A,B,A,B pattern but that is one of my lowest priorities when it comes to writing.
I am much, much more interested in the meaning and the power that something can have, I like to think of my ‘poems’ as just elaborate metaphors for things I see and feel the urge to speak out about or portray the protagonists situation. I know a lot of poetry writers on here use it escape their lives and to write about themselves, while I’m sure that can help, my life is actually very good and I have never written a poem which I think has any relation to myself. I don’t think that effects the emotion that is input into my ‘poems’ as they are things which effect people around me and also more general observations of life.
Also there are a few refrences to God in my poems but thats more because of the fact faith itself is interesting and another aspect of looking at things and the 'roll of the dice' of life, personally I don't believe in God but I think that faith can be very interesting especially when answering these kinds of questions.
Anyhow enjoy :)
