This is a short sequel to my story 'Light and Shadows' focused on the characters and their relationships after they reach Valinor. The battles are finally over but how easy is it for our heroes to start over in Valinor and create a new life from scratch? Though they finally live in peace, are truly all shadows gone from their hearts? Thranduil has a second son called Amrod. Legolas finds love. All those who departed Middle-Earth start a new life in the Blessed Realm. I have always wanted to write about what happens after they all sail West! Here is the continuation and their much-deserved happily ever after. Hope you enjoy, comments are always appreciated :) 'It is no bad thing to celebrate a simple life.' - J.R.R. Tolkien

Just some helpful, easily condensed Tolkien lore for myself and others hoping to accurately explore Arda in fanfiction. I, Silz (as ElwingAndEarendil), was part of the SSG (Silmarillion Survival Guide) team on CouncilofElrond.com which put together a helpful Silmarillion guide for new and old readers alike. This book here is to further that concept and help with all sorts of Tolkien things, including notes in the History of Middle Earth volumes and other published writings.

An elf awakens on the shores of Cuiviénen and discovers she is not alone. Thrust into a tribe and discovering her mate too early, she struggles to find herself as her people unite in their struggles against Morgoth. When Oromë comes, will they follow? ---- Middle Earth belongs to J.R.R. Tolkien, as do most all of the named characters aside from Tindómiel and Lómion. I just love the world and want to fill in some narrative gaps in the First Age. This story has mild use of Quenya, which is mostly translated at the end of each part. ---- Some reviews courtesy of the Undiscovered Gems judges: Beckyking87: “This book was fantastical; it reminded me of reading one of Tolkien's works :-) Absolutely brilliant." ThirteenthChild: “BTW, I absolutely love J.R.R Tolkien's books. :D The parts are a bit short, but I really love how the author describes everything, and provides terms for the reader. The idea is really cool :D” viogirl9: “I simply loved the beginning. The descriptions were beautiful and the way the author portrayed the setting was excellent and visionary.”

➵ With his days anything but numbered, Legolas finds himself the keeper of far too much time. ➵ As his dear friend Aragorn has passed at the age of 210 and all reason to remain in his kingdom has followed, the immortal elf ventures away from his lands, trying to understand what it means to die and if it is good that he will presumably never do it. ➵ His soul confused and his quiver always feeling a little emptier, Legolas begins to question what truly has worth and meaning as he sails with the dwarf Gimli and a hitchhiking cat westward to Aman. - Written for the Open Novella Contest, taking from fantasy prompt number twenty-three: "Under the blue moonlight, the elves come out. For a transient moment, let there be peace and harmony."

This tale was the winner of the "Runes of Daeron" Contest, made by the Conselho Branco - Sociedade Tolkien - a non-profit brazilian organization created to study and publicize the fantastic work of writer, professor and philologist J.R.R. Tolkien. It was published in issue 22 of the Council's newsletter, "O Palantir", in 2012. As a big fan, it's an honor for me. The tale accompanies the conversations of a Balrog with the elf Fëanor. In the mythology created by Tolkien in The Silmarillion, Fëanor rebelled against the gods, and after his death his cursed spirit retreated into the halls of Mandos and never returned to his relatives. The Balrog (also known as Valarauko) decides to tell his story, from the origin of the world, to the elf, because he thinks it will make a difference in his life.

Causing trouble, and ruining precious time. The child stood at both of our feet. I bend down, pulling the child into an embrace as a faux loving father figure. The Fifth Age dawns. The Eldar are gone, Sauron is vanquished, and all that remain are the kingdoms of men rising slowly higher into the future. To the south, industry churns in the city of Minas Dant. On the borderlands brew the seeds of a conflict unknown to Arda since before the Fourth Age. Tiel's messed up again. And he's running out of options. The Guild's only good to him when it helps them-otherwise, they wouldn't spend time on him: brutish, broke, and unstable. But the path ahead gets narrower and narrower. One day, he'll find that he's slipped just too far to come back. Or has he always been this irredeemable? Far on the other end of the sea, Haldanáro wakes up. Twenty years after his Return from the Halls of Mandos, he has yet to know either memory or identity. Rattled by taunting dreams, he takes a gambit-and opens his eyes to a new world. Yet the future is closing. Arda shakes and tremors; a war is coming. And they may already be out of time.
