Kaida's life was a messy one. She had to take care of her mother who was practically a hollow shell after the loss of her husband, which also left her with the responsibility of her little brother who had just barely entered the world, and she knew next to nothing about firebending thanks to the traditions set for women in her time and her father leaving this world too soon to be able to teach his daughter. But in all the chaos, there was a place of peace for Kaida. Any time she felt stressed, Aang always knew how to cheer her up. They'd known each other since they were children, so they always treated each other like family. He was the only normalcy she had anymore. But then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Now, she was one hundred years in the future. Everyone she knew was long gone, war had overtaken the world, and now, it was suddenly disgraceful to have parents from two different nations- especially if one is from the Fire Nation. As if Kaida's world hadn't already been flipped around enough...

In a quest to restore her connection with her past lives. Korra along with many of her friends venture into the spirit plane and seek out the Tree of Time. Korra wishes to use its power over time to form a direct connection with Aang but. What will the do when its power runs wild and time itself is turned on its head. Uncle Iroh is one of the most complex characters in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe. For as much as he was featured in the television show, there is so little we know about his life. Who was his wife, how did a man who met the last dragons and protected their secrets later go on to wage a war on Ba Sing Se, and what did Iroh do when he left the city after the death of his son? This is a one shot fanfiction I wrote to explore these questions. Uncle Iroh is one of my all-time favorite characters and I hope you enjoy the story I've written.
