Sunagakure, was harsh by nature, but the villagers' eyes were harsher. They didn't see a child. They saw a weapon. They called him Gaara. Whispers followed wherever he went. "Monster." "Jinchūriki." "The Weapon of Terror." He learned early that silence was safer than explanation, that emotions were burdens in a place where even children bore burdens meant for soldiers. Rejection became routine. Loneliness followed. He didn't ask for the power sealed inside him. Nor the fear it inspired. But neither did he run from it. Instead, he studied it. Controlled it. Made it his.
