Also, because ain't no way Sofia, a whole child, disappears half the time and her family says nothing. So, Sofia being a teen and leaving when she wants makes more sense. In my eyes at the least. And also, because of the dangerous adventures Sofia goes on it makes sense for her to be more mature and older while still having her young mentality. Same for Princess Antoinette.
