------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A week or two passed, thankfully uneventful as the four continued getting used to life at Camp Crystal Lake. While Freddy and Ghostface were learning about the place in general, Michael was simply re-learning the layout of the land. Jason was adjusting to having 3 more people on the lake than usual, and even talked to Terra a few times, albeit hesitantly. The demon, though blunt and having a short temper, seemed to be warming up to him, along with Michael and Freddy. He clearly already had a bit of a soft spot for Jason right off the bat, so Terra warmed up faster to him.

Things between the four were oddly peaceful and calm compared to the mess of a situation they had all been in before, and they were all silently grateful for such a peace.

..However, one evening, Jason just couldn't stop thinking. It was one of those nights that were destined to be sleepless due to a frantic mind.

Jason was staring up at his ceiling, some moonlight filling the room in a gentle, cold light.

For a second he recalled when he was dying due to Freddy, and the bloody water illuminated by the moon as he sank deeper and deeper.

He took in a breath before sitting up in his bed, sheets falling from his shoulders to his waist as he screwed his eyes shut. He pressed the heels of his palms to them, to trying to banish the memories plaguing his mind. He sighed quietly as he came back to reality.

He didn't remember what happened afterwards.

He didn't remember his time in Hell.

Which was why his thoughts were being so disruptive.

The day Michael had left, and they went back to being strangers, Jason had mentioned that Michael was the one person on this earth that he cared for, the one person that gave him a reason to fight his curse. Michael had taken it the wrong way, saying he wasn't sure if they were actually in love, or simply thought they were because they were the only human contact the other had in years.

Jason thought it was bullshit at the time, but the more he thought back on it lately, the more he'd started doubting himself.

          What if Michael was right?

Jason lowered his hands, sighing as he stared off into space, into the dark corners of the room.

He couldn't remember his time in Hell, no matter how much he'd tried to recall it. When he first came back to life, from his point of view, it was as if he'd just been killed the night before. So of course he was still in love with Michael.

Before he'd been certain that he'd gladly burn in Hell for 3 years again just to keep Michael alive, but now..

He couldn't remember his time in Hell. So now, he wasn't sure that was the truth.

What if he'd changed his mind and just forgotten?

What if he'd fallen out of love?

What if he'd despised Michael before he came back, and just didn't remember?

          It was torture, not knowing.
