I just wanted to give a little info here about this story so it's made clear before we get to into things. This work was written before the information confirming that Ciel had a twin was released. So, there will be, understandably, no twin herein. I think the best way to go about appreciating this in full is to set yourself back a bit, and remember the plot of Kuroshitsuji when there was no "real Ciel." Naturally, as we were all unaware of that fact (though there were some clever people who correctly suspected that was the case), a great many weeaboo fanfictions were drafted and concluded with zero reference to Ciel Ciel. This is probably a bit of an over-explanation, but still, ya know, pls know I did my best and am a TOUCH disappointed that it's not fully canon-happy since I was not one of the smart people who believed in the twin thing. I thought it was possible, but tbh I dislike it. The whole "evil twin" thing is so classically old-timey and frequently used in Victorian/Edwardian/Black and White Campy American dramas that it's made fun of on Family Guy (see clip at chapter's head). It's still entertaining, clearly, but it's not what I would have wanted if I could have everything my way like a spoiled brat with a famous mom. I value everything Yana's done and will forever love this series. It has a special place in my heart, and always will.

Except I won't love Sebastian. He annoys me so much. Even though I indicate a certain fondness for him here, he a lil punk ass bitch.
