In which Harry and Y/N fall in love over the summer (additional part to tutor!Y/N)
Y/N is happy.
With a sleepy Harry leaning his forehead on her shoulder and an overly sweet drink slowly starting to settle warmly in her stomach, she smiles as she runs her fingers through his hair. She is truly happy; been nothing but smiley and giggly all night long. It honestly made her cheeks hurt and brought an ache in her jaw. But it's not as if that was going to stop her grinning from ear to ear anytime soon.
"Pretty." Harry's slurred voice hits her ears and it makes her head lower, more of a timid smile gracing her lips this time. She doesn't think she'll ever get used to the unexpected remarks.
Y/N brings her straw back up to her mouth and sips from it, front teeth biting into the plastic. The drink is sweet at first, but it leaves a bitter aftertaste. Harry tuts, pulling the red solo cup away from her face, making some of the mixture of juice and alcohol spill down her chin.
"Don't drink so fast, love," His thumb wipes the liquid off her face with his thumb and brings it up to his lips, "your head's gonna hurt tomorrow and you're always grumpy when you get a headache."
Y/N pouts, "Not true." She mutters, even though she doesn't really believe her own words either, and sips once more from her drink, but slower this time, keeping his advice in mind.
"Sure it's not." He grins, shaking his head, and presses a kiss to her exposed shoulder. A small shiver runs down her spine. "Tell me when you want to go home."
Y/N purses her lips, taking a few seconds to think. She's been feeling really good all night, had so much fun dancing around with Harry (even though that mostly involved him stepping over her white sneakers and moving off beat ninety percent of the time). The couch they're currently sitting on is comfy, but definitely not as comfy as her own bed would be if she were home. She doesn't think she wants to leave quite yet though.
"Just a little longer." She replies and Harry nods, tickling her neck with his hair and making her pull away with a playful whine.
Y/N didn't expect for graduation to feel so...liberating. Sure, she knew most of her worries would melt away, but this is truly something else. She's never felt this carefree before, never this worriless and with so much free time on her hands.
When Harry briefly suggested a party to her the previous night after prom when he gave her a piggy back ride all the way home because the heels she had on were making her feet uncomfortable, she felt for the first time as if she had no reason to decline the offer. So he dropped her off at home with a sweet kiss on the forehead and greeted her the exact same way the next night when he picked her up and they went to one of his good mate's house parties.
Y/N would be lying if she said she knows most of the people in here because truth is, she doesn't. She only had a fair share of close friends in high school and didn't go out enough to get to know any other of her classmates, so she felt a little secluded at first, but Harry made sure she was comfortable. He kept a protective arm across her waist at all times and poured all her drinks himself, not really trusting anyone else's intentions at this party.
But now he's tired, she can tell by the way his body keeps on getting heavier, leaning more and more into her side. They don't usually drink together, the only time Y/N's seen Harry slightly tipsy was at the Easter family dinner her parents put together that she invited him to. He felt a little reluctant, but at her dad's persistence, he did have a glass of wine and it could obviously be seen by the way his eyes got a little glassy and his mouth twitched into small smiles at anything someone was saying. He's a really bubbly drunk, that much can be said.
