You're able to start a riot in jail. A successful riot will cause some people to be injured and/or dead. If you fail at starting a riot, they will be assaulted by the other prisoners. Depending on the severity of the assault, you can lose health. If you get caught starting the riot, your sentence is increased.
There is also mini-game added to spice things up. You have to collect 10-20 people in the mini-game (depending on how many riots you've attempted to start, how old you are, what your sentence is, etc.) in order to start a riot. If you bump into a guard, the chain of the prisoners you collected, or into the wall, the minigame is over and you have to wait another year attempt to start another riot.
