THE TRUF: the truth is i lost basically all my motivation to continue. and i started to really hate this fic because it's a huge example of my 2017 humor LMAO. i just really think it's so cringe and i did try rewriting parts at some point but again, i just kinda gave up and moved on. seeing memelord in my works every time i opened this app PLAGUED my mind so bad, and i sadly considered discontinuing or deleting it for a long long time.

OK SO: i've grown a lot as a writer since i began this story, which was in late 2017 (it's been over two years...wow). i originally wrote this fic because at the time, text fics were HUGE on ao3. i thought they were the funniest fucking thing and i wanted to make my own! when i first started i wanted to promise myself that i'd never discontinue my works because i hate when my favorite books get discontinued. but it's been SO LONG and i just don't ever think i'm gonna be motivated enough to pick this story back up. i also feel so bad and i don't want to give people more hope, ya know?
THE BAD NEWS: memelord is basically being discontinued. i thought about this for a LONG TIME and i'm just so sorry to everyone who liked it. i had a shit ton of fun writing it then and i still love reading all your comments to this day. it's my first fic, it's special and i'm not going to delete it! i can't even explain how grateful i am for all the love you've given me and this fic in the past 2 years! thank you so much to everyone who read, laughed, commented, voted, skimmed, saved the memes, etc. i wouldn't be the writer who i am today without this fic and all of u!

THE GOOD NEWS: guys i feel terrible for discontinuing it but honestly i'm gonna feel so much better after i post this shit. I'M ALSO WRITING AN ENDING CHAPTER SO U GUYS CAN HAVE SOME CLOSURE. i know it's not the same as the previous plot continuing on but i did want to end the story somehow. it's basically a proposal chapter and i hope you guys enjoy it! it's definitely NOT the same as my old writing style and the formatting is VERY different but i hope it's alright regardless 🥺 again, thank u guys so much for all the love.
