I am going to watch Venom clips on youtube tonight bc I can't afford the movie yet BUT I AM COUNTING DOWN THE WEEK IT WILL TAKE UNTIL I AM PAID AGAIN

You didn't waste a second. 

You picked yourself up and you ran. You cursed yourself for not going towards the front door. Instead, your brain wasn't working and you were locking yourself in Eddie's bedroom instead. Once you turned the lock, you staggered away from the door, hands going to your hair, messy tears slipping of your eyes. Hyperventilated bursts of cries came out of your lips and you couldn't calm yourself.

And you couldn't help but worry about Eddie. Did that thing kill him? Was that the thing that was on the news all the time now? Did it hurt him when it appeared?

"No! You listen to me. Look what you did! I asked you to do one thing for me, man - and look what happened. She's horrified of you! Did you see her face? She hates us now. Because of you. No. No! We are done."

Eddie was yelling in the kitchen. You dropped your hands and listened close.

Everything was quiet until there was a knock at the door. It made you jump.

"___, it's Eddie," the voice said. "It's just me."

Your heart squeezed in your chest.

"It's gone, okay? He's - he's gone."

You put a hand against your mouth. Your body was shaking as you tried to silence your cries. You didn't want him to hear you.

"Please, tell me you're okay. Say something," he pleaded.

You turned your head. There was a window. You walked over to it and looked down. It was high up, and there wasn't a fire escape.

"___, you - you have every right to be scared, okay? You have every right to be upset with me. But - I just want to make sure you're okay. What I have is... is... a parasite. And he isn't me, but sometimes he doesn't listen to me. I told him to stay away from you - I - I told him that it wasn't going to be okay-"

You head a soft bang, and you imagined he was putting his head against the door.

"Please, baby," he whispered. "I'll never let anyone or anything hurt you. I didn't mean to scare you. I told him not to, he knows not to now. Just please, baby, just believe me. I love you more than anything."

You turned around slowly, fingers on the window. Your heart squeezed again.

"I love you so much," he breathed. "But... if you want to leave, just tell me. I'll back up and you can go and I won't try to stop you. I can go so you won't have to see me ever again. I won't force you to not be scared. Whatever happens, just know that I love you. So freaking much, alright? And I am so, so sorry. I hate myself for letting that happen."

You walked to the door. Slowly.

You put your hand on the doorknob. 

Eddie was so quiet. 

You opened the door. 

Eddie was sitting on the ground, on his knees. He looked shocked when the door opened. He jumped and his hand was on the ground to catch himself. 

"Where is he?" you asked, voice shaking.

"He's gone," Eddie said. His eyes were red; he was crying. "But... he won't hurt you. Ever."

"Okay," you said. "I'm sorry that I ran. I was scared. Not of you, but of h-"

"No, no, no-" His eyebrows pulled together. "You don't have to apologize for being scared. Of course you were scared." He sat up on his knees and held his hands out to grab your waist. But you flinched, and he dropped his hands. He started to sob more. "I am so sorry. Seeing your face like that broke me. I never want to scare you like that, ever. I never meant to hurt you."

"Eddie," you said, and you grabbed his hands. You lowered yourself onto your knees in front of him and inched your hand closer to his cheek. "It's okay. Really, it is."

"I love you," he said. "You are my life. My entire reason that I'm alive."

"I love you so much," you said. You put your arms around him and squeezed tight. "Eddie, nothing could ever make me stop loving you. You know that, don't you? I just - I didn't know what to do."

Even seeing what he turned into, you didn't feel any less safe in Eddie's arms. He was still Eddie, no matter what. Nothing could change that.

"Okay," he whispered, voice strained.

But you had so many questions over what that thing was.

You pulled back and Eddie put his hands on your upper arms. He rubbed up and down, pausing to push your hair back. "Does that parasite... hurt you?" you asked. You wiped your nose. "Does it hurt you when he uses you like that?"

"No, he doesn't hurt me," he said. 

"Okay," you said. You nodded. "That's good."

He nodded, too.

"Can you control him?" you asked. 

"No," he admitted, "but we have... sort of a mutual understanding. He knows my boundaries. Today was just... he was mad about getting salad and I wasn't telling you about him and I don't know..."

"You could have told me," you said. "It might have been better to hear it instead of see it happen, like, right in front of me."

"I know," Eddie said, dropping his head. He laughed dryly. "I cannot begin to express how sorry I really am."

"I know," you said. You gave a sad smile.

"But I-I can tell you everything that I know about him. And any questions that you have, I will answer with one hundred percent honesty. I promise."

"Okay... well, uh-" You nodded. "He won't... make another appearance, will he? Unexpectedly?"

"Uh, no, he shouldn't. Not unless there's someone he wants to eat," Eddie said, smiling.

You blinked. You felt all of the blood leave your face. "He really just eats people? You eat people? Oh my gosh-" You stood up and stumbled backwards.

"I... shouldn't have said that, huh?" He cringed. 

You just stared at him with wide, terrified eyes. 

"Yeah, alright. Let me just explain all of this, okay?" He got up and stood in front of you. "I promise, it's not as bad as it seems. It's not as... gross as it sounds, either."

"Okay," you whispered. "I'll listen."

He breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you." He reached for your hand and you let him take it. He backed up to the sofa and sat down with you. Keeping both of your hands in his, he told you everything. Starting at the day his last girlfriend broke up with him.
