"Hey Marco, do you think we'll always be together?" Jean asks, his eyes shining bright.
The child's best friend shrugs, "I don't know but I hope so! I wanna be your best friend forever!"
The two grin and hold out their pinky fingers to one another, "Then it's a promise. We're always gonna be there for one another!"
"Yeah!"
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
Jean practically falls out of bed, the alarm on his clock blaring into his right ear. Reaching up the man slams his fist down on it to shut the damn thing up. Wiping the sleep out of his eyes he looks around and sees his run down, one-room apartment. It was pathetic where he ended up now. Getting up he lets out a curse at knocking over the picture on his nightstand. Picking it up he looks at the old photo of him and Marco on their first day of the 8th grade.
As a kid he'd had so many hopes and dreams about making it big in this world. Now look where he was, living in a shitty one-room apartment in his home town working at a clothing store, barely making enough to afford his shitty apartment. So much for making it big.
Getting a shower and pulling on his pants from yesterday with a relatively clean-smelling shirt Jean then chokes down an old granola bar from last week for breakfast. Putting on his practically disintegrating converse he grabs up his wallet and bag before making a mad dash toward his work, dreams of his past completely forgotton. Luckily he only worked seven blocks away from this shit hole.
"Yeah!"
The calming sounds of a loud waterfall wash over Marco. Yawning he sits up, blinking peacefully. Waking up like this was so nice. Pushing back the covers of his bed Marco slips out of the silken comfort. Cracking his spine the brunette walks over to the wall opposite his bed and presses the button to have the automatic draw bring back the shades.
A breathtaking view arrives along with the light that only a penthouse apartment could offer. Standing there for a moment the international singer smiles at the view, it was so beautiful. Finally turning away from the sight he goes from his room into his kitchen to get breakfast. Sitting down on the couch with a bowl of cereal the freckled man turns on the television to see what was on.
Finishing off his cereal Marco hears his phone ringing from his bedroom. Just as he's about to pick it up it stops ringing, showing a missed call from his manager. Clicking onto his home screen Marco sighs at the picture. It was one of him and Jean from when they were in the eigth grade. Over the years the two of them had lost contact with one another. There wasn't a day that went by that Marco didn't wonder about Jean and what had happened to him.
His phone rings again from his manager. Rolling his eyes the man takes the call, "Yeah?"
'I've been trying to get ahold of you all morning!'
"You've called me twice and I picked up the second time." Marco says amused.
'Regardless did you forget that you have a tour to get ready for? Have you packed yet?'
"Calm down I was going to pack now when you called."
'Ugh! Just make sure to pack warm clothes for when we're over in Europe, it's winter over there.'
