Porta Cipher

The Porta Cipher is a polyalphabetic substitution cipher invented by Giovanni Battista della Porta. Where the Vigenere cipher is a polyalphabetic cipher with 26 alphabets, the Porta is basically the same except it only uses 13 alphabets. The 13 cipher alphabets it uses are reciprocal, so enciphering is the same as deciphering.

Ano nga ba ang pagkakaiba ng Vigenere Cipher at Porta Cipher?

-Maliban sa tableau na ginagamit nila,may iba pa silang pagkakaiba. Sa vigenere,nasa left yung plaintext but sa porta,nasa taas yung plaintext. Sa vigenere,nasa taas yung keyword but sa porta,nasa left yung keyword. And same na intersection yung ciphertext.

Back to topic-

-Ang porta cipher ay gumagamit din ng tableau na kung saan matatagpuan sa left side iyong keyword,plaintext sa taas at cipher text yung intersection.

-Para ma-balance yung length,ang keyword ang mag-a-adjust.

Example:

Keyword: G O D D E S S G O
Plaintext : A P H R O D I T E

Sa pag-e-encrypt,kunin ang first letter ng keyword at plaintext.

So here it goes..

Keyword G + Plaintext A = Ciphertext Q

All in all,we have "QJVDMZRDY" as our ciphertext

-To decrypt,reverse the process.
