This is their Hamilton AU counterparts, so I'll explain the blue.

Jason was a window sweep from the age of 5, explaining his lungs. It didn't help that later in life he smoked occasionally. He ended up dying of lung cancer.
Also in his youth, once he fell from a chimney lacerating his arm on a stray brick as he fell. If the family wasn't so generous or home at the time, he most likely would of bled to death.
During the American revolution he was shot twice, explaining the bullet wounds.
In his later life, (mid to late 30's) he unsuccessfully attempted suicide, explaining the noose.

Now for Dedrik.
Historically, he still has his burns, from an accident when he was lighting rouge fires with his equally as spoilt friends.
He also did once cut himself in a suicide attempt (after John's death), but he wasn't man enough to take the pain and cut deep enough.
Due to his alcoholism and smoking habits, he had been damaging his liver and lungs for years, leading to his death by liver failure.
