I was carrying 5 food bowls out at the same time, Rubble's on my head, Zuma and Chase's on my left arm, Rocky and Skye's on my right, I had already given Marshall his. "Pups," I said. "Dinner's on... sort of..." I slowly bent down and put Chase and Rocky's bowl on the ground, then Zuma and Skye's, and I took Rubble's off my head and on the ground. "Uh... Ryder..." Rubble said nervously. I looked up. Three black SUV's were pulling into the drive, I got a chill down my spine. three men in black suits climbed out of the first car, and walked up the lawn a little ways. "Excuse me, young man," He said, taking off his sunglasses. "But you don't suppose your dad is home, is he?" "I'm sorry but... He's gone. He died in a fire three years ago." "Oh he did? That's a shame, what about your mom?" "Same day, same year, her ambulance crashed." "So both of them are gone, huh?" I nodded. "Well, you see, what's your name?" "Ryder." "Yes, Ryder. Well, you see Ryder, your Dad owes me something. Something extremely important to me, and since he's gone, I'm having a problem finding it." I stared at him. 'What are you talking about?' "I don't know what you're talking about, sir." "So, he hid it from you, huh? Tell me, where's his will?" "Lost in the fire. His attorney died in a car crash, so they never recovered a copy." "You're running on a bad road, son." He started to walk around the yard a little. He noticed Marshall. "This Dalmatian yours?" He asked. "Yeah." "What happened?" "He fell off the slide, broke his paw, fractured the leg." "That's a big injury." I didn't take my eyes off him. I had the feeling in my gut that he was going to pull something. He had his left hand in his coat pocket. He jerked it out to reveal a gun. "Hey!" I shouted. Chase jumped up and barked viciously, flaring his teeth and jumping in front of Marshall and growling. "Hey, hey, hey. I won't pull the trigger." He said, looking at me. "I'll put the gun away, as soon as you get in the back seat of the car. "Why would I do that?" I crossed my arms. He locked his gun. I sighed and started to walk to the car when...

"Wait!" Chase shouted. I stopped. "Leave Ryder, I'll go." "Chase, no." I said. "I'm going." "Chase-" "Who's gonna feed the other pups? Or take care of Marshall, or respond to emergencies? You need to stay here." "Sounds good to me." The man said, shoving his gun back in his pocket. He jerked up Chase and walked him back to the car. He threw him into the backseat and slammed the door. "Chase! No!" Skye cried, running for the car. I picked her up to stop her and held her tight, her squirming to break free. "Thank you for your buisness." The man said before getting into his car, tilting his fedora and starting the engine. Skye started crying when the cars started to pull out of the drive and leave. "Chase!" Marshall yelled, limping on his leg.

Skye's POV

I was crying. The guy had a gun, that's why Ryder didn't stop him, he could've shot Chase. "Chase!" I yelled. I broke free from Ryder's grasp and ran after them. "Skye! No! Come back!" Ryder yelled to me. I wasn't stopping and didn't plan on it. Not while that guy had Chase.

Rubble's POV

"I'll go get her, Ryder." I said, running after Skye as fast as I could. I went down the drive and across the bridge, and, as much as I didn't want to, I caught up to Skye and snatched her collar, making her yelp. "Rubble! What are you doing?!" She screamed. "Skye, you can't go after them." I said, letting go. "But I have to!" Skye cried. "No, you can't." "Why?" There were tears in her magenta eyes. "I don't know." I whispered. She stared at me. "Come on, let's get back to the others." We both went up the drive and we found Ryder crying, hugging Zuma. Ryder never cries, at least, I've never seen him cry, but hurt to see him do it. "It's gonna be okay, Whyder." Zuma said, looking at me. I looked at Skye, who was looking at me too. Rocky was shaking, his paw over his eyes, whimpering.

Where the heck did they take him?
