Elisa couldn't believe what she just heard. She watched as Kent stormed off before turning her attention to Harley, who was all ready to leave. She went toward him and got dangerously near. Harley backed off but looked at her straight in the eye.

"What now, Elisa?"

"Is that true?"

"Is what true?"

"Kent's married?"

"Yes, Elisa. He was very clear about it too, wasn't he?" Harley strapped on his backpack, but Elisa latched on to his arm. Harley shrugged her off.

"It can't be true," Elisa said.

All this time, she thought Kent was just being a professional when he would refuse her not-so-subtle propositions. She thought that once he got to know her better during their shoot, he would change his mind about not dating coworkers.

"Well, it is."

"And you like his wife?"

"I guess you heard that too."

"I thought you already had a girlfriend. You said she goes to our school!"

"I was just messing with you. Can we please not talk about this now?"

Harley was about to leave when Elisa said, "So his wife is the girl who's been making all this ruckus, huh? The girl who did that to you." She pointed to the Band-Aid covering the minor gash on his face.

"Yes, Isabelle."

Elisa rolled her eyes. She couldn't even really remember the details of her face, so she must not be that pretty to have two handsome guys fighting for her. "That's impossible. You can't possibly like her."

"Why not?"

"Because she's not that special! I thought—I thought you liked me!"

Elisa could hear how childish she was sounding, but she didn't care. She couldn't process all this. Suddenly, she was losing all the attention she thought she had.

"You don't understand. Elisa, stay out of this. Stop getting on Isabelle's case. She deserves none of this mess."

"Hmm?"

"I mean, I've seen you make a scene to embarrass her. She's not just some fangirl, okay? So please," Harley said, looking at Elisa in the eye. "Don't make a big deal out of this. You might end up hurting an innocent person." With that said, he left the room.

Innocent, really? Elisa smirked. She really couldn't believe that all of this was happening because of a girl who wasn't even that pretty or special.

Kent was looking around for Phoebe after he got out of the classroom when he heard Elisa calling out

his name. He wanted to walk off but couldn't because he might miss Phoebe, so he was forced to endure his costar.

"Kent, can I get a ride?"

He looked at her in disbelief. He couldn't exactly push her away. There were still people milling around on the school grounds, and they might start tipping showbiz blogs about how he pushed his on-screen romance off screen.

"Don't you have your own car?"

"I just got a text actually. Says here our car broke down. We can't be late for our shoot, right? What are you still doing here, anyway?"

"Nothing . . ."

"Looking for your wife?"

"Will you shut up?" Kent looked around and tried to keep his voice as low as possible. "Why are you doing this? If I go down, you go down too, you know."

"Whatever, Kent. If you don't want people talking about your precious wife, then just go out with me."

"What? Are you out of your mind?"

"Quite possibly, yes, but so are you. Getting married while you're at that age."

"You don't know anything, Elisa."

Kent looked at his watch and saw that he had about twenty minutes to get to their location. Where was Phoebe, anyway?

"So you can tell me all about it"—Elisa pulled his arm and yanked him toward to his car—"on our way to the location. We'll have plenty of time to talk."

~~

"Elisa, stop, okay?"

"Do you really want me to make a scene, Kent? 'Cause I can and I will."

"Fine, just get in the car."

Kent looked around for any sign of Phoebe but couldn't see her. He looked at his watch and knew that he had to leave. When he got into the car, he tuned out Elisa as he texted Phoebe: "Phoebe, please, do not believe what anyone says. Just trust me on this."

Phoebe received a text message from Harley asking her to wait for him. She was about to ignore the text and head on home when she saw Elisa ap- proaching Kent near the entrance of the building. She hid herself in one of the deserted rooms and watched as the two talked. It ended with the two walking toward Kent's car and leaving.

She couldn't believe what just happened.

So when she got a call from Harley just as the car was leaving, she answered it and asked him where he was. He directed her toward his red car in the parking lot. She walked toward Harley's car, cautious and already guilty of what she was about to do. But two can play at that game, she thought as she knocked on Harley's car window. He rolled it down with a smile.

"Ready?" "Okay, let's go."
