Requested by: no oneAelin and her court entered a rather large town as they neared closer to Terrasen. There were vendors and store booths open, people were happily chatting away and buying whatever goods the vendors and booths sold. Someone tugged on Aelin's tunic, she looked down to see a boy a little younger than Evangline. "Oops, sorry," the boy said. "I thought you were the Golden Huntress," the boy said, the title caught Aelin's attention. "The Golden Huntress?" Aelin repeats, she got down so she was at his level. "Yeah! She has your eyes and hair!" The boy cheerfully said. That's when the screaming started.
An unknown creature was attacking the town center. "Valg?" Aedion asked. "No, it's not the Valg," Rowan replies. "It's entirely something else." That's when a swish of a blade was heard, a cloaked figure stood not too far away from the creature with a huge scythe balanced on her shoulder. The creature slowly was cut into pieces, the people who were in the town center started to cheer and shout, "The Golden Huntress has returned!" The scythe shifted into some sort of weapon then shrunk into some small box, easy for her to carry around.
The scent hit Aedion hard, he smelt that scent before but where? Where did he smell it? It was so familiar. It's as if the Golden Huntress had the same thought, she immediately looked up to where Aedion, Aelin, and Rowan stood then quickly disappeared, leaving disintegrating roses behind. Aedion didn't lose track of the scent and started to follow it with Aelin and the others close behind.
Aedion stopped when he reached a cliff, hanging above him was some sort of rope and bares hanging down. With his sharp vision, he saw the Golden Huntress using the bars to slide down the rope so Aedion grabbed one and followed. Aelin jumped after him, using the bare. Rowan had shifted into a hawk and Lysandra also grabbed a bar, letting Evangline hang onto Lysandra's back.
The Huntress used the wall of a cliff to boost her speed, Rowan was starting to catch up with her and the Huntress swung her legs out to kick Rowan out of range. Rowan barely missed it and skidded to a halt when he almost ran into a wall. He went around the wall and went through a waterfall after Aelin. Aedion saw that the Huntress had released the bar and free fell, she hit the ground, rolled, and got back to her feet. Her scythe was out and she aimed, ready to fire at them.
Her first target was Aedion, he managed to dodge the first one, he wasn't lucky with the second shot(it grazed his side) but he managed to tackle her down, kicking her scythe out of reach. She was fast, much faster than Aedion and she was able to get back up and hold Goldryn to Aedion's neck, her turquoise eyes with gold alining the pupil is filled with anger. "Where did you get this sword?" She demands, when Aedion didn't respond she dug it into his neck so that a thin line of blood ran down. "Answer me!" She snarls. "I would let go of him if I were you," Rowan snarled back, Aelin's hands were on fire and Lysandra was in her ghost leopard form. "This sword belonged to my uncle. You rutting thieves took it from his dead body."
Aedion stilled at the word "uncle" and so did Aelin. By uncle, she meant Rhoe, Aelin's father. "Do you mean Rhoe Galanthynius?" Aelin calmly asked. "So what if I did?" The Huntress snarls. "My name is Aelin Ashryver Galathynius, my father was Rhoe Galathynius and my mother was Evalin Ashrvyer," said Aelin. "You're holding Goldryn to the neck of Aedion Ashryver, nephew of Rhoe Galthynius and Evalin Ashryver."
The Huntress released Aedion but didn't unhand Goldryn. "They told me you two were dead," the Huntress, Y/n, said softly. "What?" Aedion asked. "Evalin and Rhoe, they told me you two were dead," Y/n repeats, her eyes on the sword in her hands. "When they told me that, I left Terrasen and went to an academy that taught teens from seventeen to twenty-two how to kill that creature that I just killed. I was only eight when they told me you both died so I left to study those creatures under a man named General James Ironwood and I've been under his wing since," said Y/n. "Evalin and Rhoe convinced to me to train under him," Y/n adds. "Why didn't you come back then?" Aedion asked. "They told me not to."
Aelin paced back and forth as she pondered on her parents' action, telling lies to her newfound cousin? And to Aedion's long-lost twin sister? So many questions and little answers. Ironwood isn't answering any of Y/n's instant messages so no answers from him and Y/n is certain he has no knowledge of why her aunt and uncle had convinced her to train under him.
