29 - Saotomes Don't Bow

Ryoga yawned as he woke up. He blinked a few times in confusion. Something was different. He looked around and saw a bunch of leaves and branches. 'What? Wait...' He looked down and saw little pig hooves instead of his hands, making him squeal in panic. Ryoga had no idea how he got where he was, or why he had turned to pig-form in his sleep.

Luckily, he could see the Tendo household from the tree he was in. He squealed loudly, hoping that someone in the house would wake up and find him. One of the windows opened, giving Ryoga some hope. However, he flinched back and growled when he saw that it was Happosai at the window.

The old man chuckled as he watched Ryoga struggle to get down on his own. "Having some trouble there, piggie? Too bad no one's around to help you out." Happosai closed the window and lounged comfortably on his futon, ignoring the noise outside.

During breakfast, Kasumi made everyone's bowls and passed them down the table. As Akane passed a bowl to Happosai, she looked over at Ranma and asked, "Have you seen Ryoga?"

He shrugged. "He probably got himself lost."

"If that's true, who knows when we'll see him again." Nabiki said, beginning to eat.

(Name) shook her head. "Unacceptable! We'll find him right now. C'mon, Akane!" The twins jumped out of their seats and ran upstairs to search for him. 

Just then, someone knocked at the front door. Soun went to answer it, and recoiled in surprise at the delivery man struggling to hold the multiple boxes he had. "M-may I help you?"

"Yeah, I got an order here for someone named Genma. 15 pork chop bowls and 10 plates of egg rolls."

Soun turned back toward the table and glared at his friend. "Saotome..." As if on cue, Mr. Saotome had turned panda and was acting innocent. "Genma...!"

He held up a sign that read, "I didn't order that!"

"Then, why is it here? And, why are you acting so guilty?"

Ranma watched the two men argue for a moment before hearing Happosai chuckle under his breath. He looked to the old man as he thought, 'He's got something to do with this.'

"Someone's gotta pay for this food, buddy! I got places to be!" The delivery man shouted over the two bickering fathers. 

There were running sounds coming from the stairs. Akane grabbed a towel while (Name) grabbed a kettle of hot water. They ran outside and stood under the tree. "Ryoga, jump down! I'll catch you!" Akane held up the towel as she watched him get ready to jump. As promised, she caught him and then set him on the ground so that (Name) could pour the water on him.

Happosai stopped chuckling, but didn't stop smiling. He heard Ryoga shout from outside, "You vile old man!" and jumped out of the way just in time as the young man went to grab him. Ryoga hit his head on the table, but went on with his angered pursuit, throwing hits and kicks at the old martial artist. 

"What is the meaning of this?!" Soun exclaimed amongst the chaos. 

Ryoga pointed at Happosai, panting. "He put me outside, up in a tree, while I was sleeping! And, in pig form!"

Happosai nodded. "That is true."

Ranma narrowed his eyes at him. "Lemme guess, you're the one who ordered all that food, too."

"That is also true."

Genma turned to his old master and held up a sign that read, "But, Master, why?!"

Happosai took a drag from his pipe before speaking, "The events at the bathhouse have shown me that my pupil has no respect for his master. I never would have thought in a million years that you two would have just sat by and let him disrespect me. So," he stood dramatically with his fist clenched, "all the men of this house shall feel my wrath!"
