Requested by wendy_singh. This is in a separate AU, by the way. Also, I didn't really include all the members because I changed the format of this request many, many times. I hope you like it, nonetheless.

I don't think this is the best I could have done, but I honestly tried. I promise if I do publish my Gang AU story that it is better than this and includes all the members! (Hopefully, because I'm trying to figure out how to piece everything together.)

I hope you enjoy!

It wasn't a choice. They had to turn to this. What else are you supposed to do when your parents die and leave you with nothing? Sure, it seemed like the Kim family had a lot – a nice house, nice clothes, nice cars – but a lot of things went on behind closed doors. Not only was the outside world oblivious to what was going on inside the Kim household, but so was the youngest Kim – (Y/N).

Jin was the one who decided upon agreeing to work for one of the most dangerous gangs in Seoul. When his parents died, he expected to have a job ensured for him at the company both of parents worked at. But as soon as he walked up to the CEO, he got pushed away and told that his family wasn't going to be fed with a silver spoon anymore. Jin had no other resources. He had his family to take care of. Six younger brothers and a little sister were counting on him, so he turned the back alleys for shelter. And he slowly began to get what he was chasing – money, so he could ensure safety for his family.

Shortly after him, his brothers joined him in the dangerous game. But there was only on condition – the youngest Kim couldn't know. She wasn't to be told what was happening right under her nose. She didn't need to be wrapped up in her brothers' schemes and become worried or a part of this gang herself. Jin never intended for his other siblings to join, but it happened, and now it seemed like there was no way out.

You sometimes were left home alone a lot. For days, even. That probably started at the age of twelve. You would find a note on the kitchen counter after you searched for just one brother that told you they couldn't be there for a few days. You never felt the need to question as to where they went or why they were leaving you all the time. You just went along with it as if this was normal. And you would wait patiently for them to return and tell you all about their "fun adventure." You had always wondered how they were capable of these adventurous outings but you didn't start doubting them until you turned fourteen. They weren't there that day, or for the following week, so when they returned saying they left to go look for some rare gift, you knew that everything they told you was lies.

You wondered why they came home with so many scratches and bruises. Why did they not want to undress in front of you anymore? It was normal for one to throw off a dirty t-shirt in the hallway as you were passing by, but now it seemed forbidden to even show anything of their torso around you. You didn't bother asking about it, knowing they would probably spit out some stupid lie.

You weren't allowed in their rooms anymore. You had to knock every time you wanted to enter and even then you weren't allowed in. You thought something might change when you brought up an important event that was happening. You were going to be playing for varsity and your brothers seemed excited about it, congratulating you and promising that they would be there. The morning of the game there was a note on your lunchbox saying that they would be there, they just had important business to take care of that morning. But it didn't surprise you that they never showed up. You just had to explain to your assistant coach why you needed a ride home and why you were crying uncontrollably after the game in the bathroom. You were fed up. You were tired of all these secrets. So you decided to look into it yourself.

As soon as you got home that night and saw that there was no sign of your brothers, you went to the oldest's room. You threw open the door and noticed that nothing looked different. Nothing was out of place in the bathroom. You went to the closet and sifted through everything. You threw open drawers before seeing an envelope in Yoongi's nightstand. You grabbed it and sat on his bed before sliding the letter out of the opened envelope. You unfolded it and read what was written on the paper.

It didn't make sense to you at first. The words were odd and implying something you couldn't imagine. What did your brothers owe? And why were they being sent to kill someone? Why was there a reward if they retrieved a certain amount of drugs?

You crumpled the letter in your hands before throwing it down on the floor. You wanted answers. You wanted to be in the loop. You wanted to know everything that they had been up to and why they would turn to such extremes.

Two weeks had passed and they still hadn't returned so you decided to go find them. This was the longest they had ever been gone. In case they returned while you were gone, you left a note saying that you knew what they had been up to. You packed up a few things you felt were necessary like a change of clothes, socks and underwear, snacks and a water bottle, money, and a pistol you found under Hoseok's bed when you went snooping again. You set out and were determined to find your brothers. And you started off with the address that was on a paper on Namjoon's desk.

You found yourself standing in front of a rusted door in an alleyway a couple of days later. There was trash everywhere and you had to watch your step as you maneuvered around puddles of murky liquid. You made sure you were at the right place before trying the door knob. It wouldn't budge. You knocked and a woman answered the door. She looked like someone you would find in the middle of a bar or in a magazine that Jimin would always steer you away from in the book store.

"Who are you?" she asked. Her voice was perky and she genuinely looked like a nice person.

"My name is uh, (Y/N)," you answered and you noticed the red lighting behind her and the smoky and dark atmosphere. This wasn't a place you needed to wander into. You were fourteen. Who knows what you could get into in there? "I'm just looking for my brothers."

"Oh? Are you lost?" She looked behind her before stepping outside and into the chilly weather, cracking the door behind her. Her feet were sure in those heels of hers and you wanted to give her your jacket as she was wearing something that wouldn't provide her with much warmth.

"No," you responded. "They haven't been home in more than a week and I found an address on one of their desks. It led me here."

She pursed her lips in thought. "I don't know if I can take you inside without my boss seeing you, but if you tell me their names, maybe I can see if they're inside."

"There's seven, which one would you like?" you asked, a bit of sass in your tone.

"How about the oldest?" she replied.

"Seokjin."

It seemed like her breath stopped. She blinked, not saying a word as her eyes seemed to look everywhere but you. Finally, she straightened up and went back into the dark place behind her without a single word. The door shut and you sighed, feeling like it might be years before you find them. You gave up after a few minutes of hoping she would return and began to sulk your way over to a little 7/11 store you had seen on your way here. As you were walking away, you heard the door open and a male's voice entered your hearing.

"(Y/N)? Why are you here?"

You turned your head and almost screamed when you saw who it was. It wasn't who you had asked for, but instead, it was someone who resided in the bed to next to him. "Yoongi?"

"Get over here," he demanded, his voice stern but gentle.

You trotted over and hugged him, hoping if you could work a little bit of your "little sister magic" he wouldn't be angry with you. "I missed you. And the others."

"Why are you here?" he whispered, bending to your height. "And how did you find us?"

"You've been gone for two weeks," you said, feeling the sadness you had been pushing away. "When you missed my game, that was the last straw. I went through all your rooms and found an envelope in your night stand. Why have you been doing this? What's going on?"

Your brother went to explain, but the phone in his pocket rang. He picked it up and brought to his ear. You heard someone babble something on the other line before Yoongi sighed and looked at you sadly. "I've got her. Just go home."

The phone call ended and Yoongi leaned against the metal door you had been standing in front of earlier. "I think it's too much to explain here, sis, but we'll try to get all your questions answered. We didn't want you to find out this way – actually at all – but just know that this was all to protect you. That was Taehyung and Jungkook. They had gone home yesterday to check up on you and take you out, but you weren't there. You scared the living daylights out of us, (Y/N)."

"You always scared the living daylights out of me," you countered. "I never knew where you guys disappeared to and I knew you were only feeding me lies all the time. It hurt me."

Yoongi hugged you tightly. "I'm going to take you home and get started on trying to explain ourselves. I hope that maybe you won't see us any differently than you did before you knew. This was all for your protection. Jin couldn't find a job, so this was the next best thing you know?" he chuckled dryly. "Just know we love you and we didn't mean to hurt you. We just wanted to protect and ensure you would be safe and taken of in the future. Now let's get you home."
