Marik: Ha ha ha ha, you couldn't have just trusted me on the word that your power was real. You just had to go and see it for yourself!...
Marik cackled cruelly, I just sat on my bed, tryig to ease the throbbing headache caused by utter and total regret over what I'd done to Edmond. Marik wasn't helping much...
Me: Shut the fuck up Demon!
I yelled, Marik whistled delighted with my usage of vulgar language.
Marik: What, t'is not my fault you decided to jump the gun instead of trusting me back in the demon dimension.
Me: Trust schmust, Okay I get it! I killed some random guy. Jeez...
I groaned over Marik prancing across my room, either looking at various items strewn across the tables and floors.
Me: It's not exactly that easy, you demons may have to power to torture a human's soul mentally with no regret but we humans are much more than ruthless killers like you!
I yelled, Marik seemed unimpressed.
Marik: True, you may speak the truth. Nevertheless, the powers of Death will only continue to grow within you. Having the ability to kill just by making people give their lives to you unknowingly is not your only ability.
This suddenly seemed to snap me out of misery, I slowly lowered my hands as I looked towards Marik's grinning form slowly. Curiosity appeared in my own eyes as he sighed and sat in my swively chair.
Marik: I'm only going to tell you about the abilities you've gained once you have acquired them. Other than that, I'm only here as... Let's just say, Moral support? I guess?
Me: Real supporting...
I replied sarcastically.
Marik: Fine then, I'll tell you another one, as you've just gained it! Congratulati-
I only stood up and pouted at him angrily.
Me: Enough with that! What is it!?
I barked at him, it became regular to have a small conversation with a supernatural evil... So much so as I've grown to accept it as a way of life for me. I stood by while Marik listed the abilities I've had and the one I currently acquired.
Marik: Apart from being able to talk to and see some supernatural creatures such as myself. Note the word some, Killing people by making them give you their permission... You've just gained the ability to see people's remaining lifespan!
I silently gasped at this, awed at what I considered... Somehow, amazing. The ability to forcefully kill people was a predictable power of mine to have, but reading people's remaining lifespan... I've just maybe become a supernatural being myself... Perhaps that's just the beginning of things.
Marik: Impressed? Let me show you how it works...
Marik said, it was then I heard my mother call my name.
M/N: Y/N baby! Come down it's dinner time!
I didn't question Marik's knowledgeable status on my mother... Because I'm Death already. My brain can only take on so much before it ruptures and explodes. I didn't hesitate to barge past my door and make my way downstairs quickly and almost leaping into the chair besides the dining table. Marik stands a few feet beside my mother and begins to talk again, my mother doesn't hear him.
Marik: Now then Y/N, whisper these words: Ostende mihi vita.
I glare at him with confusion, I've never heard of that kind language before in my life.
Marik: It's Latin buddy... Jeez what kind of school do you go to?
My iced cold stare comes to a close as I wait until my mother, still unaware of me attempting to speak Latin, continues to chew loudly on a piece of meat.
Me: Ostende mihi vida...
I whisper, Nothing happens.
Marik: VITA! Not vida!
Marik yells at me, face palming.
Me: ...Ostende mihi vita
I try again, this time the whole room seems to flash blue. I now saw everything in a blue tint, I look around, everything seems... Matrix-y. I couldn't even describe the look of it, it was almost like... I was in the loading screen of he Animus in Assassin's Creed II but not exactly.
I read my mother's remaining lifespan.
...3 Days.
What the Fuck!?
Marik: Oh crap! Didn't see that one coming... Did you Y/N?
