The day you were sent into the maze was supposed to be scary. It was supposed to make you afraid of WICKED, as they slowly stripped your memories from your brain. It wasn't supposed to be scary in an emotional way, though. You had agreed with Ava that because Gally was your boyfriend, you wanted to go into the maze with him. It was decided, seemingly.
Until the day that he was supposed to be sent into the maze. They pulled him out of his chair, and sent him off to the labs for preparations. You knew it was going to happen, and you had already said goodbye. What you weren't expecting, was when another guard grabbed your arm and hauled you to your feet.
He shoved you towards another room, and your head was spinning. You weren't supposed to go into the group A maze for two more months. You asked the guard what was happening, and he rolled his eyes.
"Change of plans. The scheduled subject for the group B maze is extremely ill. You've been switched." He said, typing on a keypad. You were shoved into the room, and hustled through, but not before you saw the tank with Gally inside, screaming underwater, and trying to reach you through the glass. You pulled away from the guard and leaned against the glass as well.
"Gally?" You said, your voice cracking. He calmed down a bit, letting his hand rest on the glass, and you did the same. The guard grabbed your elbow and started yanking you away.
When you looked over your shoulder, Gally was still watching you, fists pounding the glass.
And you were sent up in similar boxes, to different mazes.
