"Love, wake up!"
Paul was pushing my arms and gently slapping my face. I pried my eyelids open and was welcomed by his sweet irises.
"Brian just informed us that we will be 'aving a second appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show in two days here, so we need to rehearse downstairs. Ye don't 'ave to come if ye don't want to, I'm just letting ye know. Afterwards, we'll be going to some executive's house to do a photo session for Life magazine. I would like it if ye would accompany me to that shindig. There's a lot going on today, love, so I had to wake up early..."
"Yeah, that was a whole paragraph for me to digest before becoming fully awake," I moaned.
"Ye need more than seven hours of sleep, dear. I'll come get you when we're through downstairs."
He leaned over and tenderly kissed my lips. I sighed in satisfaction and fell off into Dreamland again.
A loud knock on the door interrupted my dreams. I slightly groaned as I lifted myself up off the mattress. I took a quick glance at clock, which read 11:30 a.m. I had definitely slept for more than seven hours!
"Lizzie? Lizzie, are ye in there? Are ye up, Lizzie?"
"Yeah, I'm up," I barely grunted. I rubbed my aching eyes and jumped from the bed.
Cynthia was patiently waiting behind the door as I opened it. She was wearing a medium-sleeve length, purple sweater dress and a matching floppy hat. Her long, white legs led down to a pair of Roman gladiator-looking sandals. A bright, cheerful smiled graced her face.
"Sorry for waking ye, but John called and told me to grab ye on me way out..."
I grinned and pushed her apology away. I was actually glad that she came to get me! I didn't want to miss all the fun that the group was having in sunny Miami!
"It's perfectly fine! Just let me get dressed and I'll meet you downstairs!"
"Alright, but don't be too long," she concluded, carefully shutting the door behind her.
I smiled once more, thinking about the great times that were in store for me... Especially with Paul! The outfit that I planned on wearing today was calling out for me to put it on! A cute, light-blue blouse, a white miniskirt, and a pair of white heels were chosen. As I reached towards the top of the rack for a straw hat, a matchbox fell from one of Paul's suit jackets.
"Oh, Paul...You and your unnecessary smoking," I sighed, picking the cardboard up.
The box fell apart from constant gripping and inside was a folded sheet of paper. I couldn't help but to unfold it. Staring back at me was a neatly penned song!
For Elizabeth:
I give her all my love
That's all I do
And if you saw my love
You'd love her too
I love her
She gives me everything
And tenderly
The kiss my lover brings
She brings to me
And I love her
A love like ours
Could never die
As long as I
Have you near me
Bright are the stars that shine
Dark is the sky
I know this love of mine
