Throughout the whole four hours it was very peaceful and quiet. Well, that was a lie. I was constantly awakened by George's loud snoring, Ringo's rapid movements, and John's consistent chatter in his dreams. Paul, on the other hand, was very still. I just plugged my ears with the ends of my pillow.
"Wake up, Paulie!"
I jumped up to a sitting position to see John violently shaking Paul. He finally awoke with squinty eyes. I stayed still and silently giggled to myself over his demeanor.
"What be the problem, John?" Paul yawned with a hint of aggravation.
"You do remember those interviews that we have with the media, right?"
Paul gave a long moan and planted his socked feet firmly on the ground. He glanced at himself in the mirror and grimaced. Then, he looked my way. I gave him an eager grin.
"You just made me day, love," he exhaled
"Glad to be of some help around here," I joked while putting my hands on my hips.
Paul awkwardly walked over to me and gave me a soft peck on my forehead. He then grabbed a towel off of the shelf and a suit from the closet and made his way into the bathroom. John just took Paul's sleeping spot and sat there looking at me. I just made my eyes big to intimidate him.
"Freaky..." he spoke slowly.
I laughed and glanced around the room.
"Hey, where are the other two?"
"Oh, they went to go get some jam butties. All of us are ready, though, except for Paulie. We just decided to let Mr. McCranky get a few more minutes of rest," John explained with a straight face. "By the way, you look very beautiful when you wake up."
I slightly blushed at his comment, not sure if he meant the time when Paul kissed me or when I was scared out of my skin. I pulled the thin covers off of my body and noticed that the rip in my skirt grew double in size. John noticed it as well and gave it an odd expression.
"Aye, what happened there?" He pointed at the crater next to the little black bow that graced my bottoms.
"I have no clue, but these are the only clothes I have."
He thought for a minute, then got up and walked over to the bar. Out of his wallet, he pulled out a couple of one hundred dollar bills. He strutted back over to me and took my hand.
"Be very gentle, these monsters can get pretty hairy," he whispered as he forced my fingers back and slapped them into my palm.
"Hey, be gentle to Lizzie!"
I turned my head to see Paul dripping wet with the towel around his waist. Now, if I hadn't really blushed hard throughout the whole time of being with the four, this had to be it for me! I gave a slight gasp and threw the top blanket over my head.
"Aye, Macca, don't scare the little lady with your ugliness," John teased. I heard a hard punch follow.
"Mr. McCranky need not to be such a meanie," John kept on. I giggled quietly with my hand over my mouth.
The door to the room opened and I heard Ringo and George snickering. I felt a hand pat my head to tell me all is clear, so I lifted the blanket.
"Paulie's got a shirt on, dear," John reassured. I looked over to the bar to see Paul buttoning up a white shirt. He had already put his pants on.
"What's wrong with you two?" Paul questioned the troublemakers.
"Aye, I think we saw a nude bird," Ringo bursted. I couldn't help but laugh at his use of words.
"Yeah, she was a bit of all right," George followed.
"Ooh, I think I know who it was," John quipped with excitement in his voice. I already knew what he was going to say.
"Who?" the other three wondered with anticipation.
"Your mum, that's who!"
The howl escaped my tightly closed lips and echoed throughout the room. I guess it was only me cracking up. John was being chased around the space by two angry men with jelly all over their hands. Paul was finishing getting ready.
"Aw, come on mates, it was just a silly," Paul tried as he grabbed a hold of George's coattails. I helped out by reaching for Ringo, and finally got him by his tie.
"You're choking me," he gurgled.
"Promise you won't kill John?" I asked with as much sweetness as I could muster.
"Yes'm!"
I let go of my grip and, miraculously, Ringo sat down next to me.
"Now, let's go, the Associated Press is waiting for our grand entrance," John seriously stated. Wow, he sure knew how to switch the subject!
The four men were headed on their way out, that is, until John and Paul remembered that they had left me behind. Paul sat down by my waist and John at my feet.
"Sorry, Lizzie. It's just that we really want to get finished with these things," Paul apologized.
"Yeah, and I want you to know that you can get as many clothes as you need with that cash," John assured.
"What? You gave her money?"
"Yeah, she said that was all the clothes she had," John explained.
Paul reached into his coat pocket and revealed a few more one hundred dollar bills. He gently placed the wad into my hand with the other two that I obtained from John.
"Guys," I attempted to coax, "I really don't deserve your hard earned money."
"Nonsense, you need clothes! Especially with how cold it is here in New York," Paul spoke back. John just nodded in agreement with his friend.
"Alright, but where can I go?"
"I think there is this store called Rive Gauche that has mod threads! Probably a walkable distance from here, I say," John helped.
"Aww, thank y'all so much," I gushed.
I hopped up on my knees and gave John a huge hug. I then diverted my attention to Paul and gave him a quick, but gentle, peck on the lips. I saw his face turn a light pink and John brought his hands up to each side of his face.
"So very cute," he cooed.
"Guys, are we going?" I heard George yell from the hallway.
"Right now," John answered back. He went to go calm the other two down.
Paul stood up and grabbed my left hand. He gave it a sweet kiss and pulled his coat around his chest.
"When you're finished shopping, just come back to the hotel and ask to enter the Terrace Room. Be careful, love."
And with that, he placed his finger on my chin and lifted my head up to softly peck me on the lips to return the favor from seconds ago. My whole body melted like butter.
