Hera's POV

"Ma belle!" My mother?

"Maman?" I whispered hoarsely, my eyes focusing on her graying hair. They were here. Mom and dad. I felt someone else rush to my side, then grab my hand.

"Nous sommes ici," Father.

"Where's Dante?" I asked, slowly sitting up as my head stirred.

"He's in the middle of surgery. He was on the brink of death when you two got here." My mom replied, brushing my hair back. Was he?

"Is he okay?"

"He should be."

The next few hours were filled with happiness and pity while others came and greeted me, but I just wanted Dante. They let me out early so I could get back on track, but I just want to lay in bed with Dante and Aurora for the next few days. I know it's a huge deal that I'm back, but I just want to relax and take my time to appreciate everything a little more for a bit.

I was called down to the conference room by the Beta, William. He had something important to tell me, so I rushed down there in a hurry. The members sort of just stared at me, not really knowing how to react, but I didn't really mind that.

Once I got there, I saw about 10 guards standing around the room and 20 inside. I guess the safety has been implied a little harder. "Welcome back, My Queen. As excited as we are for your arrival, there are many things you have missed out and need to know. Is it okay if I leave you here to read the files on what has happened while I go grab something?" William spoke, causing me to nod. "I will be right back,"

Sitting down at the end of the table, I smiled at the soldiers who volunteered to keep me safe. "Thank you," I whispered, digging into the papers.

As I was looking through the papers, someone walked in. The scent... Dante. I looked up, gazing at my mate. He had a huge bandage wrapped around his chest and back and he had some wine with him. I stood up, then walked into his open arms. "Shouldn't you be in the operating room?" I asked, smiling as he rubbed my back.

"Shouldn't you be in our bed with your legs spread apart?" He joked, causing me to slap his arm. "I'm kidding. No, they let me out early to help you ease back in." He smiled, kissing the top of my head. "You saved my life last night." I shrugged, causing him to tilt my head up. "You saved me." His eyes bored into mine, causing me to slowly nod. "I love you, Hera. I love you most, okay? Nothing will ever change that."

"Well, Dante. I love you too. I love you more than you will ever realize. I love everything about you, even that weird mole on your left butt cheek," I laughed, kissing his jaw, "And the freckles on your shaft." I whispered, causing him to flush of all color. "I love you." I pressed my lips to him, gently placing my hand on his back.

"We should get started before we fvck in front of these guards," Dante laughed, causing me to laugh.

"Yeah," I sat back down as Dante pulled a chair beside me, then sat there. I observed as he pulled out a wine bottle, took a sip, then passed it to me.

"What? This is a celebration." He smiled, wiggling his eyebrows. I sighed, then took a quick sip.

"Hey, um. While we were in the car, I overheard some guards talking about you, saying you were basically drunk for eight months straight. It that true?" I asked, leaning on his shoulder and looking through the papers. He stayed silent, so I already knew his response. "What about Aurora- Where is she?"

"She's fine. I haven't seen her in about three weeks now-"

"What?"

"She's at my parent's house." He sighed, downing another bit, "And before you get angry, I'm sorry. I couldn't handle the stress of taking care of her without you." He sighed, passing the bottle back to me.
