1.2 Royal Family

"Tomorrow?" I ask turning to this Ms. Arora who is supposed to be my assistant, "Is he not coming back for the day?"

"I highly doubt it," She answers opening the door for me to walk out, "It's his birthday after all."

"Oh."

"I'm Eva, by the way." She offers her first name.

"Jhanvi."

"I know." At my look, she explains, "I was told who I would be assisting."

"Right." How dumb of me. I need to get with the program already!

I arrived in Mumbai earlier in the morning and I had been jet lagged and so I was drinking even more coffee than usual. And ofcourse, that had to be the way to greet this Mr. Rich-Raizada.

At first, I couldn't believe his gorgeous looks. No man should be allowed to look that sexy, or have such intense eyes, or that strong jawline. Then, I had told myself it was wrong to blatantly be attracted to a guy when I had a fiancé. It had helped when the next words out of his mouth had caused me to think he was very arrogant and then throughout the time I was seated in his cabin, he was all professional and composed as if he had no care in the world and would rather be somewhere else.

Then, I did have my answer when he answered that phone call. It sounded quite personal. Meeting, he had called it. Hah. What a joke. No one goes to a 'meeting' calling the other person Dove.

I am pulled out of my thoughts as Eva opened a cabin and walked inside with an announcement, "Here we are. We'll be sharing this space for the next year. I know it's not too big and may seem congested, but it was the only empty cabin on this floor."

I take in the size of it and call her out on it, "Congested? As if. This looks to be three times the size of my bedroom back in Australia."

Until I was 18, I didn't know of the inheritance my parents left for me. I lived with my Aunt in her tiny apartment. And now, even if it has been 5 years since, I still find myself uncomfortable around the luxuries that come with being the heiress of the estate my parents left behind for me. Learning that my late parents belonged to one of the many royal families in Rajasthan and that as such, it made me royal too? That was never a part of even my wildest imaginations.

She turns to me with her eyes wide, "Are you serious?"

"Like a heart attack." I answer walking in further and looking through the windows, "Trust me, we'll be just fine in here."

I don't fail to notice that the view outside the window faces Mr. Raizada's cabin directly. I wonder for a second if it was intentional, and then I dismiss the thought. Eva did just mention it was the only available space on the floor.
