One more thing, just remember, you guys are never alone. If there's something wrong, please talk to someone. Each and everyone of you are amazing and worth it. Just like you guys have supported me throughout the years, I support you. I'm here for anyone who needs someone to talk to
One tear. One crystal-like tear was all that fell down my cheek as my lips left Prompto's cheek. Although a little strange, I placed a finger on my lips and allowed myself to wonder what it would be like to feel his lips on mine. However, as soon as the thought appeared, I quickly shook my head to be rid of it and made my way out of the tent. Before I could wipe the tear away, the wind slightly picked up and brushed it away. It hurts. That pain in my heart hurts as it slowly breaks with each step I take, with each step I make away from my dear, sweet Prompto. Although, I guess he was never mine in the first place, nor will he ever be. The thought hurts. The truth hurts. Everything hurts. I feel shattered, broken, destroyed. The world is truly a cruel, cruel place.
I placed a hand over my heart and slightly clutch my shirt, hoping, praying, for the pain to fade. It doesn't. It merely aches more, breaks even more with each passing second. Not wanting to wake him up, I walked quickly, quietly, away from the tent, in what would be the last time I ever see him.
The breeze, it gently brushes against my face as I overlook the cliff I stand upon. I watch as the birds fly free up in the sky so high, flying free. 'What would it be liked to fly as free as a bird? To not worry about what's happening on the ground below? To just keep flying until you can't no more?' I took a deep breath to calm my racing heart as the anticipation of what is about to happen causing it to pound against my ribcage. It numbs the pain, if only for a while. A temporary fix one would say. It doesn't last long.
I stared ahead as my feet slowly move forward, one step after the other, closer and closer towards the edge of the cliff. 'Is this finally it? Is this how my life will finally end after all the pain and suffering I've gone through? Will I no longer be a burden to those around me?' Each step I take is one step closer to the edge. 'Will it end in eternal bliss once my life is gone? Will everyone finally be happy to know that I no longer walk upon the Earth and burden them merely with my presence alone?' Just a few steps more. I'm merely centimetres away from the edge now. I take another deep breath as I take those final steps and stand right on the edge. I look down, but I'm not afraid. I'm tired, I'm done, I can't live like this anymore. Just as I'm about to take the final step, I hear a familiar voice that stops me in my tracks.
"(Name)!'
Prompto's POV
"Guys wake up!" I yelled the moment I ran into the other tent.
"Prompto, the hell you are yelling for?" Gladio said as he slowly got up. Ignis and Noctis slowly getting up not long after. I could see that they wanted more sleep as it was early in the morning, but (Name) is so much more important than sleep right now.
"It's (Name)." Was all I said in a frantic voice. Their eyes widened and immediately became alert as they looked around before turning back to me.
"What about her?" Noctis said. At that, I slightly clutched the letter in my hand, my heart pounding against my chest as I simply held it out to them. Gladio took it as the other two stood on his left and right to read it with him.
"Oh my..." Was all Ignis said after the had read the letter.
"She's kidding, right? Please tell me that she's not actually serious about leaving us, about saying goodbye for good." Gladio said.
