Chapter 19

The harsh wind stopped and everything was silent. You look back and so did Tails.

" But we destroyed the phantom ruby's power source."

"We did, I pressed the button myself!"

" What did I say!?" 

" Tsk Tsk, since you Always destroy the power source of my weapons. I decided to learn from my mistakes, I had a back -up power source created under metropolis." Eggman looks up.

" Infinite let's get going! and put that down before you catch something!"

" You can insult that hedgehog and all the others, but you leave her out of this!"

" Just hurry up!" Eggman leaves and you quickly grab the phantom ruby. When you did  you felt this burning sensation over your entire body.

" AAAHH!" He grabs your wrist and pulls it away from his chest.

" What do you think you're doing!?" 

You retaliate by pulling your arm away from him and you elbowed him in the face and he dropped you. You land and quickly charge at him. You wrap your arms around his body. Tackling him to the building. He falls on his back with you on top of him. You out your (y/w) and you hold it over your head.

" Get off of me, you useless human!" You freeze from hearing that voice again. You look up at Tails. 

"Tails did you hear that?!" 

You didn't notice but Tails did. Infinite's left arm was glitching. As the phantom ruby took control of his left arm. His hand formed into a fist. You could feel  his gloved hand being roughly pressed against your cheek. The impact caused you to be thrown back and off of him. You rolled a few feet away from him.

" (Y/n)!" Infinite quickly sat up and looked at you with horror. You slowly sat up and looked at him. You had a split under your right eye on your cheek bone .

"...No....no.." He looks at his hand, it was shaking like crazy.

" NO!"  There was this red aura that slowly appeared around him. The building started to shake and the wing grew stronger.

" Infinite don't let it control you!" You stand up and took one step step closer to him.

"No , stay away from me!" You stop in your tracks.

"Huff huff." He looks up at you and you reach for him and disappear.....

There was a long moment of silence...

" (Y/n) are you ok?!" 

" I'm fine did you hear that?!"

"Hear what?"

"What he said and how his voice changed!"

" Ya kinda."

" That was the phantom ruby talking!"

"How, it could only talk if it was it's own person." 

"That's because it is, Infinite nor Eggman know what that thing really is."

"Hmm, so this was your theory you were talking about." You look in the direction the battle was occurring. 

" Come on we gotta find knuckles and the others." Tails nods. You both run towards  the edge of the building and jump onto another building.

" Knuckles can you hear me?!"

" Ya what's going on!" 

" Eggman throw sonic and the rookie into null space!"

" Null space!?"

"This isn't where we were meant to end up, Let's head back. Every one is waiting for us!" 

They quickened their pace towards this bright light leading to the outside.

"We've got this, keep it up partner!" The rookie held sonic's hand tighter as they got faster by the second. They both jumped out and landed on a rail.

" Sup everyone? I missed this place." The rookie laughed. Sonic looked back and laughed with him. The rookie blushed a little. Sonic looked forward and held the rookie hand tighter. Which made him blush even more. 

" What happened, sonic. (y/n) said you got sucked into null space!"

" Nothing happened, literally. now let's track down Eggman!"
