None of us knew what to say to each other. I wasn't much of a conversation starter and by the lack of communication going on between us, they weren't either. That was when a thought occurred to me to ask them about what all of this was like for them but then Aloysius walked in. I knew it would probably be a better idea to ask them when he wasn't around seeing how he reacted to things. Not long after that thought Aloysius walked in and everyone including me was looking at him for some type of update on what to do next.
"We have to go. It's no longer safe here." For the others that was all he needed to say. For me, I needed to know more about what was going on.
"What happened?" I said while getting a surprised look from everyone in the room.
"I'll explain when we reach our next destination. For now we need to worry about getting out of here. Now!"
"No!" I shouted. "We deserve to know what's going on and where we're going next."
He walked over to me. For a moment fear took over as I imagined my mothers body being replaced with my own. As I imagined his red eyes looking into mine. "Before you all start assuming that I hurt Enzo, know that I didn't. While speaking outside we had a brief encounter with some angels."
"Enzo is dead?" Ari jumped with tears suddenly in her eyes. Everyone seemed to be taken aback at the sudden amount she expressed toward the thought of Enzo being dead.
"Don't worry about your precious Enzo." Aloysius said. "The angels have him now. They have no intention on hurting any of you, at least not yet. The main target has always been me." Ari wiped a tear from her eye. "We must leave now." Aloysius said while walking over to the kitchen and pulling two things out of the bottom cabinet. Instead of using a box of matches this time he pulled out a lighter. Then after flicking the lighter a few times, he pulled out an unknown object. And if i thought right, which most times I did, it was a bomb.
"How long do we have?" I asked while he lit it.
"Five minutes." His words entered through my ears and slapped around a bit as if trying to find the perfect place to be interpreted. We didn't have much time to get out of the house plus in a safe distance away from the bomb. And if we did we'd have to leave this second. "Neri, Sian, and I will take flight. Lefu, you ride with Amari. Ari you take Enzo's motorcycle." We all rushed out of the house. If I had enough time, or even a choice I would have asked to fly with Aloysius. Getting on the bike with Amari was just like getting on the bike with Aloysius for the first time. Awkward.
After riding for a while we finally approached a mansion, it was pretty huge. Way bigger then my old house or the cabin. As we approached the house everyone started taking out their weapons. The only one who didn't have a sword was Amari, he had this chain with a dagger attached to each end. Aloysius also had a sword, I saw him come in with it after the run in with the angels and the whole Enzo thing. While I still had his strapped onto my body.
"Lefu ." Aloysius said while landing, the others did the same. Amari, Ari, and I just got off the motorcycles. "If you come in contact with anyone, I mean anyone, I want you to kill them." He was speaking to me like I was a child; slowly and using lots of hand gestures. "Understand?" To confirm I shot him a deadly but not hate worthy head nod, in return he just smiled.
I was the last one to get into the house. After Aloysius broke down the door the only thing I heard was scream after scream. The sound of swords splitting the skin of helpless people had an effect on me. An effect that I would probably end up regretting later and that would keep me up at night.
Aloysius took the main floor. Neri, Sian, and Ari took the basement and Amari and I took the upstairs. And being the multi-million dollar home, it was to no surprise how beautiful it was.
