"Are you expecting anyone?" Alec asks as a knock echoes thru the loft.
"No." Magnus says gets up, reluctantly, to answer the door.
"Magnus bane, high warlock of brooklyn."
"Yes."
"Inquisitor herondale." Alec says walking up behind magnus. "What are you doing here?"
"I am here on official clave business. This does not concern you, mr. Lightwood."
"As head of the new york institute, I thought it did."
She breathes heavily through her nose and says, "we have gotten reports of a warlock around new york that is using illegal dark magic."
"You can't possibly think n it was magnus."
"The warlock is a powerful one so of course we started with the high warlock."
"When was this supposed to have happened?" Magnus asks.
"Three nights ago."
"I wasn't even in the country."
"Can you prove that?"
"I was in Switzerland."
"Not good enough."
"He was with me." Alec says.
"Still not good enough."
"Since when is the word of the head of an institute not good enough."
"Since you have a personal relationship with the person in question. We need to know exactly what you did."
"Well, we portaled there, we had dinner then we stayed in a chateau for the night."
"All night?"
"Yes." Alec answers.
"How do you know he didn't leave between the hours of ten and eleven?"
"We were in bed."
"He could've left and didn't notice."
"I would've noticed."
"How can u be so sure he didn't leave?"
Alec sighs loudly and says, "because he was screwing me so hard by that time that I couldn't form a coherent sentence. I think I would've noticed if he left." He says as magnus tried not to laugh.
"Mr lightwood. That was uncalled for."
"You're the one who asked what we were doing."
The inquisitor narrows her eyes and without another word leaves.
"I can't believe you said that." Magnus says, kissing alec.
