(Y/N) was a quiet girl. She didn't get to talk a lot. She helped her mom at her family cemetery, cleaning the graves, watering the plants and flowers. Many people claimed that she was cursed because she lived there, but (Y/N) didn't mind. Her fate was to work at the cemetery anyways, not to hang out at café's, party at clubs, or get drunk. She wasn't one to join any school clubs, and that worked out for the students at her local university too. 'Missing one member is better than having the cursed join our club,' they would say.She was at the top of her class, no matter what subject. She was quite content with her life although she felt that something was missing. She hadn't talked to anyone besides guests, teachers, and her mom. She was missing a friend.
"Hello, I'm looking for Akaashi Airi's grave. Do you know where it is?"
(Y/N) was surprised. Akaashi Airi passed three years ago, yet this ravenette is only coming to visit for the first time.
"Yes, I do. Do you mind if I pay my respects to her too? She was my godmother." She smiled bittersweetly at the man. (Y/N) visited Airi whenever she had time. Her godmother was the first death the girl had dealt with.
The man in front of (Y/N) widened his sharp green eyes. A goddaughter of Akaashi Airi? He had heard of no such thing. But then again, the last time he talked to Airi was 7 years ago, when she left the ravenette and his father.
"Lead the way." Keiji smiled.
The walk to the grave was a quiet one. The boy recalled some of the memories with his mother.
'Keiji, when you find a girl, make sure to get my approval first, okay? And I want to see grandchildren before I die!'
'Keiji, I found a girl that's perfect for you! Do you want me to set up a date?'
'Volleyball? That's new. What encouraged you to join?'
'Good luck at the tournament, Keiji! Oto-chan and I will be there to watch you!'
He smiled. He did miss his mother dearly, but she did scar him too.
'Keiji, only a 95? That's not good enough.'
'Keiji, I heard some rumors about you being abused at home. Did you tell anyone?'
'I don't believe you. Ground. Kneeling. Now.'
'I'm leaving and never coming back. Goodbye.'
"We're here." (Y/N) smiled.
The gravestones was inscripted with:
Here lies Akaashi Airi
Beloved Mother, Godmother, And Friend.
'I get a lot of these quotes off of the internet, but they are true.'
Keiji smiled. His mother always said that to him. Some of her favourites were 'breathe, it's just a bad day, not a bad life', and 'you can't have a rainbow without a little rain'. Cliché, yes, but the quotes did help him through his life.
(Y/N) broke the silence. "Always the matchmaker, wasn't she?"
"Yeah. Almost every week she would talk about a coworker's daughter being 'perfect for me', and then attempting to set up dates." Akaashi sighed, reminiscing.
"Ha. I can relate. Although, at the end of the day, she would always pair me up with her son." (Y/N) confessed.
"Her son?" Akaashi asked, curious to find out more.
"Yeah. His name was Keiji, I believe. She always talked about how much she loved him, how much she messed up that day. She was trying to repent for her sins since then."
"I see." The ravenette felt guilty about ignoring her calls and texts. But what's done is done, and Airi has passed.
The walk back was yet again a comfortable silence. However, when Akaashi was just preparing to leave, (Y/N) called out again. "I don't believe I caught your name."
"Akaashi Keiji. Call me anytime." He handed out a piece of scrap paper with his phone number on it.
The (h/c)ette's eyes widened. "Pleased to meet you, Akaashi Keiji."
Even in death, Akaashi Airi was playing matchmaker.

Sorry for a shorter chapter!
Idk I tried a third person approach for this one. I think it's very calming.
Anticlimacticish tho but I do like it it's quite different
