You smiled, waving to the players on the field. You were at Busch Stadium to watch your boyfriend, Yadier Molina, and the rest of the St. Louis Cardinals play. Decked out in your usual attire - a Molina jersey - you were ready to watch the game.

Yadier walked over to you and you leaned over the railing so he could give you a kiss on the cheek. "You ready to go?" you questioned.

"Of course," he said. You looked away for a moment, spotting who had recently become one of your best friends, Matt Carpenter.

"Hey, Matt," you called, waving at him. He stopped, walking over to you instead when he spotted you.

"Hey, Lydia," Matt greeted. "How are you?

"I'm great," you said, smiling at him. You could see Yadier give Matt a look but you ignored it. You knew he didn't like the fact that you had gotten so close to Matt but he had never said anything about it and you didn't understand why he got so jealous. Matt was married, after all.

"That's good," Matt said, smiling back at you for a brief moment before turning at the sound of his voice being called. He turned back to you to wave goodbye before walking towards the one responsible for calling his name.

You looked over at Yadier, whose mood had changed fairly visibly. You ignored this change, leaning over the railing to give him a kiss. "I love you," you told him.

"I love you, too," he said like you were forcing him to say it, before walking away. You frowned. Was he really that bothered by Matt?

You walked to your seat where some of the other wives and girlfriend's were sitting, your mind still on Yadier. You didn't want to give up your friendship with Matt, but you also didn't want to make Yadier worry. You loved him and he should know that.

"Is something bothering you?" Mackenzie, Matt's wife, questioned.

"No, it's nothing," you said. She gave you a sad smile, a look on her face that told you that she didn't quite believe you, but she didn't say anything.

lydia: hey matt

matt: hey, lydia. what's up?

lydia: it's about yadi. has he been acting weird lately?

matt: yeah, i've noticed it. it seems to be mostly around me, though

matt: why do you ask?

lydia: i think he's jealous of how close we're getting

matt: huh

matt: i guess that would make sense. he seems especially annoyed when we're talking

lydia: yeah

lydia: i don't want to ruin our friendship, but i really love him and i don't want to see him upset

matt: i know what you mean

matt: i'll talk to him tomorrow, and you should, too

lydia: alright, sounds good

matt: gn lydia

lydia: gn matt

Yadier walked into your house the next night with a vibe that was quite unlike his. He was unusually quiet and you were immediately worried.

You stood up when he walked into the living room and he ran right into you, wrapping his arms around you tightly.

"I'm sorry," he muttered as you hugged him back, hiding your face in his chest. "I didn't know I was worrying you."

"It's okay. I understand," you said, pulling away from him. "You know I'd never leave you for Matt, or anyone else."

He smiled, kissing you on the lips. "I'm very glad to hear that."
