"Let's finish this the right way." Herobrine's voice was deep.
"You're on, biatch!" I growled.
Our swords interlock as we both swing them at each other in opposite directions, hoping to catch the other off guard. We lower our swords and I scream a battle cry as my army charges into battle.
This war is more ferocious than the last. There is more blood and gore. Herobrine seems to not be engaging me in a fight, so I confront him. I swing at him with my sword, but he blocks. As I fight Herobrine people are dying all around me. Some are my soldiers, others aren't. I barely notice Okward standing behind Herobrine as my sword locks with Herobrine's again.
I blink and he's gone. Lost in the war.
"Go! Go! Go!" I hear a walkie talkie say. I glance up and see a helicopter filled with 2,000 agents from our alliance. I guess the other 2,000 could come after all.
The assassins run into battle and join us.
There's no way Herobrine can win.
80,000 to 104,000.
As I block Herobrine's attack I look over and see the person in black fighting someone from the other side. Man, they remind me of Mia. They way they fight. Mia was like a ninja when it came to assassinating one target alone. I look back in time to block an attack before stabbing my sword straight into Herobrine's arm. I pull it out red and sticky with the blood of my father. He looks down at his arm, dips his fingers in the blood and stares at it as though it isn't real. Like he can't believe what he is seeing. I manage to swing another attack, only to have it blocked by his sword as he shifts it to the other arm, shouting in rage.
"You think you can defeat me?" Herobrine yells over the commotion of the war.
"No. I know I can defeat you." I reply, blocking his next attack.
Attack after attack, they are all blocked.
Why can't I land another hit? Am I that bad?
That's when I can hear Mia's voice in my head saying 'you can do this, Max! I believe in you!'
I swing at Herobrine's injured arm, slicing it open again. Blood pours out of the wound.
"Should we now to a cleaner place? This could get infected and I don't want this since I'll be the survivor. I can't live with an infected wound." Herobrine said, sarcastically.
"We're in the middle of a battle and you are still being so narcissistic. How funny." I say as our swords lock yet again.
We keep fighting. Both of us are tired, but we are determined to not give up. We both want to win, even though we already know who's won.
We've been here for 6 hours at least, swing in at each other non stop. Our armies have retreated. They are standing 20 feet back in their starting positions watching us fight. The dead were carried off to their own side by people from their team. None of my friends are dead. That's good. I flip over Herobrine's head dodging another attack. Then I roll and do a back hand spring to dodge his sword. He had to change to his left hand after I injured his right hand a third time just before everyone went back to their own sides.
"Why won't you let me win?" He called out.
"Because I am doing this for the sake of my friends. For my family. For Mia." I say.
"But I'm your family, too. Don't you remember your dad?" He asks.
"I remember perfectly well. I disowned you, is all." I block another attack and this time cut his right arm clean off and slice his side open. He falls to his knees.
"How? How d-did you beat m-me?" He asked.
"Determination." I said.
Herobrine fell onto his side. He is still alive, but barely.
"P-p-please. Show m-mercy." He trembled.
"Where was the mercy for my people? Where was the mercy for Notch?" I say as I stab my sword into his heart.
"Goodbye, Max. I'll see you in the afterlife." He said. He reached a hand up to the sky, which quickly went limp by his side. I pull my sword out of his chest.
I turn and face the crowd. Both groups have now merged into one, although they aren't intermingling with each other. You can clearly see the difference between the two sides, although they are closer together now.
ADAMS POV
Max pulls his sword out of Herobrine's chest. Big mistake, buddy. He can regenerate.
He turns and faces us.
Before anyone can say or do anything, Herobrine is up with his sword. He holds it up to Max's throats and cuts his head clean off. Herobrine then turns 90 degrees and walks back to his tower, unfazed by what just happened.
It's then I noticed a person in full black on the other side of the battle field. They put their sword in their hilt and walk over to Max.
THIRD PERSON
The person in black pull their hood back to reveal a woman with dark purple hair and pale eyes.
"I thought I told you not to do anything stupid." Mia said cradling Max's headless body.
"I told you to be careful." She whispered.
Ross and Adam just stand in awe, mouths hanging open as Mia, their dead friend cradle her now dead husband.
Scar walks forward from the crowd and plonks onto her knees next to Mia. She puts a hand on her shoulder.
"It'll be okay." She whispered as a single tear fell down Mia's cheek.
That's when Adam stepped forward.
"Let me try..." he kneeled down next to Max and put his head where it should be on his body. He started humming.
The tune was soft and sad. Suddenly, Mia hummed the tune too, soon followed by Scar and Ross. Kayla then joined in and looked over at Alesa as Alesa joined. Soon, all the people that worked for Max or was in an alliance with the agency was humming the tune. A green energy floated through the air as Max's head slowly attached itself to his body.
Everyone watched, hopefully still humming the tune but as the green energy faded and Max's body lay there still limp, everyone soon lost hope.
That's when Mia had the idea to try to mind message him.
'Max. It's okay. You can wake up now.' She messaged.
'Max is offline' was all she received in return.
"Now that he's gone, you can be mine, Mia! You will marry me and be the mother of my children, excluding that piece of filth, of course." Herobrine boomed from behind Mia. No one even saw him come back after killing Max.
"You killed my husband and one of the only people I actually cared about in the world. For that, you shall pay!" Mia replied. She pulled out her sword and in one swift motion, jumped over to Herobrine and cut his head clean off.
As Herobrine fell to the floor, the spell put on all of his assassins was broken. There was a white light and suddenly, anyone who had the white eyes, returned to normal. They didn't know where they were so they just stood around casually, confused on how they got there.
Herobrine's body turned to dust that blew away in the light breeze.
Everyone stood in place, shocked that Herobrine turned to dust. Only NPC's and mobs turned to dust upon death. He must've been the most powerful NPC to be able to do that.
Then, Mia started to sing softly to herself. Quiet enough for her to hear it but no one else. Everyone turned to face Max's body lying on the ground. Scar heard Mia singing and started singing with her, walking over to her and holding her hand. Soon, all the people who fought in that dreaded war held hands and sung the anthem of war, a song only sang to those whom where great leaders and deserve more life. Notch despised the song, so he didn't want it sung when he died but this is Max. Max has died.
Just as the song finishes, Max twitches ever so slightly. She barely saw it, but Mia new he moved. Max slowly sat up and looked around.
"M-Mia?" He asked as he saw her.
"Max!" Mia let go of Scar and Kayla's hands and rushed over to Max. He held her in his arms.
"I thought you were dead!" He whispered into her hair.
"I thought you were dead!" She replied.
"Well la-di-da. Mia's back from the dead. Who cares? It's Herobrine we should be worrying about! Now he's gone! What am I supposed to do?!" Okward said from somewhere in the crowd.
"Shut you mouth Okward! Don't make me shoot you again!" Max snapped. That shut him up.
"Tell me, how did you get back?" Max asked.
"You know how I wanted an open casket? Yeah, well that was my way of escape. See, I knew Okward was coming and I knew what type of bullets he had. He accidentally used 'Ich Lügh bullets'. Ich lügh means I'm lying in German, but the bullets aren't real. They look real and make it seem like you are really dead, but you're not. The people at the morgue found this out and helped me with my plan. They kept me hidden and made a mannequin that looked exactly like me. That's what is buried under ground right this second. I was in the casket at the funeral. Under some heavy sleeping drugs. When they were driving me to the burial ground is when they switched me and the mannequin around. The reason I didn't show myself sooner was because I knew you would declare war on Herobrine. That was the prime time to show. That's how I'm still here." Mia explained.
"I love you, Mia." Max said.
"I love you too." Mia replied.
