Questions About Asexuality #1
"Can you be gay and asexual?"
Answer
Short answer: yes, but let me explain because it's not as simple as yes or no. Being gay can mean both homosexual (being sexually attracted to the same gender) and homoromantic (being romantically attracted to the same gender). The term "gay" typically encompasses both of these orientations.
If we're talking about being homosexual and asexual at the same time, then no. You cannot be both sexually attracted to the same gender and sexually attracted to no one. But you can be homoromantic and asexual at the same time. This means you can be romantically attracted to the same gender but still be not sexually attracted to anyone.
So you can be homoromantic and asexual, but you cannot be homosexual and asexual.
