Basketball Practice ~ Young Derek

Y/n's pov

I was in the gym practicing basketball with the team. Derek currently had the ball, dribbling it. He saw that I was wide open amd passed it to me.

I started dribbling the ball and made a three pointer. The coach said,"Good job, Y/l/n." "Thanks Coach." I said.

After a long practice, Coach blew his whistle and said,"Okay everyone. That was a great practice, you guys can go home now."

I grabbed a clean towel and my water bottle and wiped the sweat off my face. Then I grabbed my gym bag and put the strap over my shoulder.

I heard Derek say,"Aye, Y/n, think fast!" I turned around and caught the basketball. "Really, Hale?" I asked, putting the ball under my arm. He shrugged and asked,"Can I have the ball back?"

I pretended to think and said,"No." He pretened to be hurt and put a hand over his heart. I put my bag on the floor and spun the ball on my middle finger.

I got on the court and started to dribble the ball. Derek said,"Oh, so you wanna play a little one-on-one? Okay, but if I win you have to go out with me and if you win you have to kiss me. On the lips." "Neither of that makes a difference, but okay." I said.

Okay, so, Derek and I were tied with 3-3. I currently had the ball, dribbling it. I was at a three and I shot the ball in the hoop making it 6-3.

We stopped playing and Derek said,"Good game, Y/n. Now, how about that kiss you own me?" I rolled my eyes playfully and kissed him. He kissed back and put his hands on my hips and I put my hands in his hair, playing with it.

We pulled away for breath. Derek asked,"Still wanna go on that date?" I nodded and said,"Yes." "Okay. I'll pick you up at 8 on Friday." he said, smiling. I nodded and said,"Okay. I'll see you later then."

I walked to my bag and put the strap over my shoulder. Derek hugged me from behind and asked,"Y/n Y/l/n, will you be my girlfriend?" "Yes, Derek. Of course I'll be your girlfriend." I said, nodding my head.

I felt him smile against my shoulder and he kissed my cheek.
