Team Test

"Team seven, which is designed to be an assault and recon team, will be under Kakashi Hatake. Hinata Hyuuga, Sasuke Uchiha, and Naruto Uzumaki." Naruto grinned at Hinata and whispered.

"We already know our team and the sensei is my dad, before class started Iruka sensei said our sensei would pick us up tomorrow at nine, so naturally my dad will be there at twelve thirty to one. Wanna get outta here? Dad taught me how to get out of stuff like this. Shadow clone jutsu and shunshin at the same time."

"No Naruto-kun, that would be disrespectful to our fellow classmates." She wasn't wearing her blunt armor but a light blue long sleeved shirt and baggy pants and shinobi combat boots. Her jacket was tied around her waist.

Naruto shrugged. "Alright, no point in arguing with you, Hinata-chan. I always lose..."

"Team eight, which was designed with spywork and espionage in mind will be Sakura Haruno, Shikamaru Nara, and Shino Aburame under Kurenai Yuhi."

"Team nine is still in rotation. Team ten, designed for assault, tracking, and support, will be Kiba Inuzuka, Choji Akimichi, and Ino Yamanaka under Asuna Sarutobi."

(Then he read off the civilians but nobody cares about those kids  lol)
__________next day 11:55: pm______

"Hi guys." Kakashi appeared in the classroom to find only Sasuke glaring. Naruto and Hinata weren't anywhere to be seen. "Where are the other two?"

"They said you'd be late and went to ichirakus." Sasuke deadpanned.

Kakashi chuckled. "That,boy knows me too well. I guess we're going to. Hold your breath and bend your knees."

Kakashi put a hand on his shoulder and began shunshining himself and Sasuke.

Shunshin was a superspeed technique, most didn't use it in a fight often because it causes tunnel vision and it didn't allow you to catch any details you normally would without a doujutsu.

Naruto was currently digging into his seventh bowl of ramen while Hinata was halfway through her second. "Hey Hinata-chan, after these you think we should head back?"

"Probably. This is taking a bit longer than I'd imagined, because of how delicious the food is here." Hinata replied.

Then Kakashi say beside Hinata and Sasuke say on the otherwise of him. "No need. I'm here. Maybe we should way during team introductions?"

He and Sasuke ordered and Kakashi pulled his mask down, revealing his abnormally good looking face. He looked more like a male model actor playing ninja than an actual ninja. Normally he's use genjutsu to eat but two years with Naruto got him to loosen up a bit.

Now the only part of his face that was covered was his sharingan eye. Ayame behind the counter was trembling with cheeks redder than her father's old favorite customer's hair.

Kakashi smiled at her, making her knees weak. "Hi."

Naruto had his own mask around his neck while he ate. "Dad, do we really need to do the true genin test? You know I'm strong and I get along with Hinata and Sasuke so it's not like we'll try anything against each other."

Hinata nodded and Sasuke just kept looking forward, pretending he wasn't interested. True genin test?

Kakashi nodded. "Yup. Though there is a minor glitch. Since we live together I can't give you a test since it'd be viewed as biased. No my friend Hawk will test you tomorrow at nine in the morning. Eat a heavy supper and light breakfast so you don't vomit.

Hawk watched the group as they stood to leave. A 'test' wouldn't be a good way to accurately gauge their skills. They need to believe they're actually in danger. For this reason he moved.

First he used hence to change his appearance. He gave himself a black cloak, red mask and long spiky black hair.

Naruto, Sasuke, and Hinata were making their way through the streets when.

"Naruto, the civilians, there aren't any on this street." Hinata whispered, Naruto stopped she was right. Then his eyes widened as he went through handsigns, then grabbed Hinata and Sasuke's wrists. A man landed where they were, plunging Naruto into the ground with such force that a dust cloud kicked up.

"Quick thinking with that substitution, Dobe." Sasuke smirked. "What's you use?"

"I kinda owe someone a new cabbage cart..." Naruto deadpanned.

Hinata activated her byakugan. "Naruto, I think we should fight seriously."

The man turned. "Very impressive, brat. I'm here for the Hyuuga girl, give her to me or die."

Naruto stepped forward, the look in his eyes changing to one of cold calculating fury. "Hinata, go get help. He's here for you, we need to get you out of here."

Sasuke stepped up with Naruto. "He's right. If Naruto and I can't beat him we can at least buy time until you get help here."

Hinata looked like she was about to argue until their attacker shot forward like an arrow released from a bow.

Naruto blocked a spinning kick but the strength behind it hurled him to the side, flipping and whipping out a handful of shurikens.

The masked man swung his arm, releasing a current of wind that deflected the spinning blades. Sasuke had just finished his own handsigns.

Sasuke spit out a fireball the size of a house, directly for the masked man.

The masked man aimed a palm at the fireball and it disappeared instantly. "Fire can't burn without oxygen, a person with a high enough wind affinity can trump fire easily." The man spun, catching Hinata by the wrist as she tried hitting him from behind.

She cursed. "I can't leave you two behind while I run! We face this as a team!" Then she poured chakra from her tenketsu, freeing herself from the man's grip, then spun at incredible speed. "Kaitin!!!"

The man was blasted backwards but before he could hit the ground a barrier of wind surrounded him and he was suspended in the air. Then he floated back to the ground. "Very impressive." A plume of smoke erupted around him and he turned back into Hawk.

He looked at the chakra burn on his right arm bracer. "That K aitin packs quite the punch. Alright team Hatake, you pass for exceptional teamwork and skill."

"Kakashi said we'd be tested tomorrow!" Naruto yelled angrily, rubbing his sore forearm.

Hawk nodded. "True, but a good ninja is always prepared. Testing you tomorrow after you've had time to come up with plans, but explosive tags, get chakra pills, and be completely ready wouldn't be a real test of your skill. Based on what I saw Hinata is easily the smarter of you, along with her almost catching me in the back with a jyuuken strike. Naruto your reaction with the substitution was incredible, your reaction time is nearly instantaneous. Sasuke, you used an A class fire jutsu in the middle of the street. If I hadn't drained the oxygen from it you'd have destroyed someone's home or possibly killed them. I will tell Kakashi how you all fought and refused to leave one another behind. Good luck team Hatake." And with that he vanished.
