(I haven't forgotten just been busy lol started dating a girl and I've been spending most of my time with her and her daughter:P)

Boredom. All encompassing boredom. That's what our blonde hero was feeling at this moment.

He was in a beginner Academy student classroom, learning things that Kakashi had either already shown him or told was unimportant in the long run. At least it was better than the nightmare Guy-sensei called training.

"GOOD MORNING KAKASHI, NARUTO-KUN! HOW ARE YOU THIS YOUTHFUL MORNING?!?!"

Naruto winced at Guy's introduction. "Do we actually have to be here?"

Kakashi nodded. "You lost a bet, a good ninja must always keep his word."

Naruto nodded back slowly. "Okay, are you staying with me?"

Kakashi began giggling and then broke out into full blown laughter. "Sorry Naruto-kun, I didn't make any bets with Lee." Then he was gone, leaving Naruto to his fate.

The three then spent the next twelve hours running, doing push-ups, walking on their hands, sparring, and finally going through katas as a cool down.

Naruto fell back on his bed, his muscles presumably dead and his mind completely fatigued.

He now did that three times or more a week. This helped his strength out tremendously.

Now Naruto sat alone at lunch, trying to replicate what the scroll in front of him said. "This sucks..."

Then Naruto's ears caught the sound of something...not so fun.

"Pffft, look at her ugly eyes! I'll bet she thinks she's better than us!"

"P-please st-stop it..."

Naruto's eyes widened, goosebumps hitting him and traveling down his arms and spine. He really hated bullies.

He was moving before he even realized it.

He came up on a scene of three older boys with one pressing a dark haired girl's face into the grass with his foot.

"Neji Hyuuga took us apart the other day during taijutsu practice, acted like he was better than us because he's from a clan! Maybe we should take y-" that's as far as he got before he looked over to his friends. One was on his back with a bloody nose and the other holding his throat, coughing and struggling to breathe.

"I'd take my weakling friends and get outta here if I were you." Naruto was glaring as the kid laughed.

"You sneak attack my buds, and suddenly you think you're tougher than me? Fine, let's fight right now!" The kid fell into a fighting stance and Naruto just kept on walking.

The kid put everything he had into a haymaker, hoping his larger size would over power the masked blonde.

Naruto caught the fist and interlocked their fingers, bending the older boy's fingers backwards painfully. "I recommend you apologize to her."

"Argh! When my dad hears about this you'll be-" Naruto slapped him with his free hand hard enough to turn his cheek red.

The blonde then sighed. The kid wouldn't budge and he couldn't just break his arm...what to do....what to do...

A smirk appeared on Naruto's face. He pulled ninja wire with his free hand and tied the boys hands behind his back up to his elbows, leaving his arms completely immobilized, then took the kids shorts, leaving him only clad in his t-shirt, sandals, and ichi-ichi underwear.

The boy sprinted away fast enough that Naruto was actually surprised.

"U-Um... th-thank you..." Naruto turned and found the girl standing behind him. She had dark hair cut short, pale skin, lavender eyes with no pupils, and she wore very plain clothing. She had the beginning of a bruise on her forehead from the boys tormenting her. Other than the offending mark on her otherwise porcelain skin she was quite pretty to Naruto.

"No problem, I just don't like bullies. I'm Naruto Hatake, what's your name?" Naruto had been given permission to go by Kakashi's last name by the hokage and Naruto liked it because it made him feel like he was actually in a family.

"H-Hinata... Hinata H-Hyuuga. It's um... nice to m-meet you." She smiled softly at the blond.

Naruto grinned under his mask and said. "As future hokage I kinda have an obligation to protect people, ya know." He waited, normally this was when people said he's never be hokage.

Hinata didn't though. She smiled wider and said. "I'm glad th-that we will h-have such a caring Ho-Hokage. Good luck, Naruto-kun..."

Naruto was actually speechless, quite the feet for our blonde hero. "Y-you think I could do it?"

Hinata nodded. "You beat th-those older b-boys easily... that makes y-you stronger than mo-most of the st-students in our c-class."

Indeed, Naruto was stronger than the majority of his classmates. Weeks turned into months, and months bled into years until they were finally ready for their final tests as genin.

Naruto was third best at taijutsu, behind Hinata and Sasuke. Naruto had honed his chakra control, knowing how difficult making regular gunship would be with his enormous chakra, making him top in terms of ninjutsu.

Sasuke was second best in Taijutsu, but he was more rounded than either Naruto or Hinata.

Hinata, thanks to Naruto helping her overcome her shyness, was the best at taijutsu.

These are the qualities the Sandaime Hokage was looking at when making a team. In the past, teams were divided up by putting the top male and femalewith the worst student to build a rivalry, but that only hinders the team and holds back two that are actually on a different level and capable of learning more.

No, this year Hiruzen decided to make teams based off whom he thought would ensure survival in future missions. For that reason he decided to rearrange teams from the way that Homura, his adviser, had suggested.
