Chapter 60 I love you

Amy and I sit in her room playing when I hear someone knock on the doorframe scaring the living shit out of me. I look up to see that it's just Marshall, he has the key to my house so he just walks in.
"Marshall!!" Amy says cheerily. Amy still doesn't call him dad but it's okay, she has to get use to all this.
"You scared me." I say smiling.
"Sorry." He says as he lifts Amy up. We're doing good here me and Amy and we've lived here for 2 weeks now. Marshall comes over and visits us often so it's just nice.
"So, what's up?" I say.
"Nothing much." Marshall says but I can feel that something is wrong. He's a man of few words today.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"We'll talk about it later." Marshall says as he walks out of Amy's room with Amy on his arm. I hate when he does this! Now I have to wonder about what it is until Amy is put to bed.
I get up from the floor and follow them into the living room where Marshall sits down on the couch.
"How's my princess?" Marshall asks Amy.
"Good." She smiles. "Are we going home to Kim today?"
"Not today baby." He says. "I think the three of us should do something today."
"Okay." She says and rests her head on his chest.
"So what do you wanna do?" Marshall asks her.
"Hmm..." she thinks. "Can it be something in your house?" She asks.
"Sure." Marshall says sounding a little confused.
"I wanna swim in your pool." She says cheerily.
"Alright, lets go then." Marshall agrees.

I get Amy ready and then we get out in Marshall's car. I wanna ask him so badly what's wrong. I'm scared that he's changed his mind about us or something, not that we have talked about us but we're sleeping together and I'm scared that he's changed his mind about that. It would destroy me if he ended what we had because I wanna be a family with him again so badly. I can't just be friends with him.
"Has it something to do with us?" I whisper to him when we've been driving for awhile. Marshall looks at me frowning, clearly confused.
"Why would you think that?" He asks.
"I don't know." I shrug. "It just gets me nervous."
"Charlie called but I can't tell you more right now, alright?" He says and I just nod. I know we can't discuss it with Amy on the backseat. She doesn't need to know that her mom has a court case hanging over her head.
But it doesn't make me more relaxed, actually it makes me more frustrated and I can't stop thinking about it now.

We arrive to Marshall's house where we go directly to the pool area, mostly because Amy is so eager to swim in the pool.
Marshall immediately jumps in the pool with her and I just stand at the edge looking at them. I'm in no mood for the pool right now as the only thing I can think about is that Charlie has called.
"You coming?" Marshall asks me as I just stand here.
"No, not today." I say smiling hoping he won't pick up on my mood, but by the look he's giving me then he doesn't buy it.
"Amy, do you want mom to join us?" Marshall plays the corny card.
"Yes." Amy says. "Come on mommy." Marshall knows that I can't say no to her so I take off my clothes so I'm in my underwear and I jump in the pool. Amy immediately hangs around my neck and I just give Marshall the look. He knows just how to play his cards right and it annoys me at times.
"You wanna tease dad?" I whisper to Amy and she nods as she giggles.
"Yo, cut that off." Marshall chuckles. "I don't want you to make evil plans."
"Okay, can you distract him?" I whisper to Amy.
"Yes." She giggles.
"Yo, I swear Amelia." Marshall begins and continues. "You know what happens, right?"
"Okay, when I say now then we splash water on him, okay?" Amy nods and I see her swim over to Marshall and hang around his neck instead.
"Do you want to try something?" She laughs.
"No, what are you up to?" Marshall chuckles and I now make my way over to him but he keeps his eyes on me.
"Nothing." Amy giggles. "Look at me."
"No cus your mom is up to something." Marshall says and gives me the look that says don't you dare. I swim over behind him and hold him around his waist. "What are you up to Amelia?" He asks me.
"Nothing." I giggle as I look at Amy. "NOW!" I yell and me and Amy splash water on him. Marshall quickly fights back and splash us with water. Suddenly he lifts me above his head and throws me back down to the pool. Afterwards he takes Amy by her arms and swings her around.
"Mommy! Help!" She screams and laughs. I swim over and grab her and try to swim away but Marshall grabs my feet.
"Swim!" I tell Amy as I push her away from me. She can barely breathe because she's laughing so hard right now. Marshall pulls me closer to him and puts his mouth to my ear.
"Guess who's gonna pay for this later?" He asks husky in my ear.
"You." I laugh.
"Wrong answer baby." He chuckles.
