This takes place after 'Running with Scissors"
Marco had gone through sixteen years of his life. He was thirty years old now, spent sixteen years of his life searching for the Hekapoo clones and blowing out their flames. He earned his own scissors.
The door burst open and there she was. Star Butterfly, princess of Mewni, his best friend whom he hasn't seen in years. He was so excited to see a familiar face.
He made new friends and had many adventures but nothing felt better than seeing a familiar face. A familiar face that made the heat to his cheeks and his heart swell in his chest.
The whole time he was chasing after Hekapoo, all he would think about was Star. It wasn't like that, at first.
It started with him needing to hurry and get back home, before his family could worry. He had to come back and collect his puppies from the dog park. With going back to school and seeing Jackie.
And then Star. Star was going to be so mad at him for opening up so these portals, just because he was lazy. Star was going to be so worried because he had been gone for so long. She was bound to have told her parents and they were bound to have missing child signs out for him. Just like he did for Star when she ran away.
Star, Star...
The last Hekapoo. It had taken him sixteen years to find her and now he earned his own scissors. Now he could open whatever portal he wanted and it wouldn't be a problem. Maybe he could finally go home and see--
"Hekapoo, where's Marco!" The person who he was dying to see, was there, before his eyes, except... she was still fourteen.
That didn't stop his excitement from bubbling out when he got to her. Of course she didn't recognize him and he had to explain that it was him, and he afterwards babbled about his tales. She stared, probably in admiration, and he liked that.
But he was confused as to why she was still fourteen and he was thirty. It had been sixteen years. Hekapoo mention that it could takes hours, days, months, years, lifetimes, but she failed to mention that time passed differently in her dimension. So here he was, wasting sixteen years of his life chasing clones while in reality, it had only been, according to Star, eight minutes.
Have you ever experienced sixteen years of your life within eight minutes?
Marco looked down at himself when they came back from Hekapoo's dimension. He was back to his pubescent, insecure, ab-less fourteen year old self.
"Hey, it's okay if you're fourteen again!" Star's words ringed in his ears. Sixteen years gone in eight minutes. Sixteen years of adventures and thrill seeking, gone down the drain. Sixteen years of flowering emotions for the girl that was walking outside his bedroom.
His puppies gathered at his feet, barking happily. Marco looked up at Star's retreating figure and sighed. It was a little upsetting, to be fourteen again and experiencing sixteen years of your life in eight minutes, but...
"C'mon puppies, lets go for a walk." He picked up their red leashes and started to head out the house.
It was going to be sixteen years that he was going to spend at Star's side.
