Worthy of the Champion (Gladion x Moon) [FINISHED]

The next day, Gladion prepared for Moon's arrival. She had promised him she and him would train today.
      He was waiting somewhere along Route 1, leaning against a tree. Suddenly he heard footsteps approaching, but not just one person.   
      "Hi Gladion! Are you ready?" yelled Moon as she approached him. By her side were both Hau and Acerola.
      "I hope you don't mind... but they begged me to let them join today." said Moon.
      Gladion wasn't going to admit it, but he was a little ticked off, he was hoping it would just be the two of them like last time. "Its fine." he said.
      "Haha! Don't worry, its like you won't even know we're here", said Hau, even though Gladion knew that definitely wouldn't be the case.
      "The least I can do is watch you two train, I have to learn a lot more when being in the Elite 4!" Acerola said as she sat down.
      "Alright! Shall we get started?" said Moon, motioning Decidueye to stand in front off her. Gladion nodded as he took out his Pokéball with Silvally in it and let him out.
Suddenly they all heard someone approaching them. "Well, well ,well! If it isn't the Champion." said the mysterious person.   
       They all looked confused, and a bit worried. Gladion looked angrily, ready to battle whoever this person was.
       Moon tilted her head, "Ryuki?... What are you doing here?".
       Gladion looked at her, "Wait, you know him?" he asked.
       "He's one of the challengers at the League." she said.
       "Well, I'm just out here exploring Alola as much as I can until I move on the the next region." said Ryuki cunningly.
      Gladion was very suspicious of this kid, mainly because his edginess almost matched his, probably even more than his.
      Suddenly, Moon's phone rang. "Huh? Its Professor Kukui. I gotta take this. Give me one second." she said as she walked away answering the phone.
       Acerola noticed the two boys glaring at each other. She spoke up, "You two should battle!".
      "Why?" asked Gladion. "Why not?" she said. She then rubbed her hands together evilly, "And whoever wins has to ask Moon out on a date."
       Gladion began to get flustered, "What? No!" he yelled.
       Ryuki tapped his chin "Thats not a bad idea actually... If I go on a date with her, I can eventually just convince her to give me the title as Champion!" he said with a cunning grin.     
       Gladion looked at him "You can't do that! That's not how it works." he yelled.
       "Then I guess you'll just have to battle me." said Ryuuki, grabbing a pokeball from his pocket.
       "Tch, fine" said Gladion. Ryuki threw his pokeball, "Go! Dragonite!"

     Dragonite slid onto the ground and fainted as he was hit with the finishing Multi-Attack by Silvally. Ryuki then returned his pokemon to its ball. Hau and Acerola cheered as they saw their friend win and Gladion couldn't help but smirk.
        "Tch, whatever." said Ryuki as he crossed his arms. "I'm outta here." he said as he stormed off.
       Hau and Acerola both giggled. "What?" said Gladion.
      "You know what this means, riiiight?" said Hau, poking Gladion on him arm.
        Gladion swiped his arm away, "S-Shut up!" he crossed his arms, "I'm not doing it." he said with a blush across his face.
        "Hmm, then I guess I should just go tell Ryuki that since you won't do it, he can go ahead and ask her." said Acerola, shaking her head.
        Gladion looked down, he couldn't let Ryuki do what he said he would do if he won. He hesitated, "I-"
       Before he could say anything, Moon walked up, "Heh, Sorry about that, duty calls. But I ran into Ryuki back there and he said you two battled, and you won! Thats amazing! Hes a really strong trainer, too!" said Moon with a smile.
         Acerola suddenly pushed Gladion forward, closer to Moon, "Gladion has something to ask you, in private!" she yelled, then grabbed Hau and ran off. "Hey!" yelled Hau.
          Moon looked curiously at Gladion. "Is something wrong?" she asked.
        Gladion knew what he had to do, but how? He couldn't just ask her right then and there.
        His face was red, he tried to speak, "Um... I....".
        Moon looked worried "Are you ok? You're not sick aren't you?" she suddenly put her hand onto his forehead to feel his temperature.    
       Gladion began to blush even more from her touch.
       "Oh my gosh! You're burning up!" she said. Moon grabbed his hand and started to walk
       "My house is right up here, you need to rest right away!" she said.
       "Um... Moon. I'm not sick..." said Gladion, his voice a little shaky, which didn't help his argument.
        "You don't need to deny it! You obviously have a fever!" she said sternly.
       
       They eventually got to her house. By then, Gladion was still blushing, he was so deep in thought about having to ask her out.
       "Ok, now just sit down." said Moon, helping him on the couch. She then went to bathroom and looked through the cabinets for any medicine.
       As she was searching she talked loudly so he could hear her from the other room, "I don't see anything in here." She walked out, then grabbed her bag. "I'll have to stop at the Pokemon center. Don't worry, it'll only take me a mi-"
        Gladion stood up and grabbed her hand before she could leave.
        She looked at him curiously, "It won't take me that long..." she said.
       "No... that's not it." he said, looking into her eyes.
       Moon started to look worried, "Then, what is it."
      Gladion walked closer to her, they got almost too close. He thought about what Ryuki said earlier, he couldn't let him play with her heart like that, he knew what he had to do.
        Gladion looked into her eyes and said, "Will you go out with me?".
      Moon's heart started racing at his words. She couldn't help but also blush. "You... want to... go out.... with me?" she said, her voice shaky.
     Gladion nodded. He couldn't help but move her hair behind her ear with his hand. Moon's heart raced even more from his touch.
       Suddenly, she leaned up and pressed her lips against his. Gladion's eyes widened and he tensed up. Even though it lasted only a couple seconds, it felt like hours. Just as Moon pulled slightly away, she whispered "Yes." and smiled.

omg finally gladion you ask her out smh. anyway yeah this seems kind off rushed, sorry about that. next chapter is probably going to be a valentines special so be prepared for fluff (im always prepared for it tho wink wink)
