Saya pov:

I let out a deep sigh as I stood in front of the mirror in the bathroom. I had just finished washing up – I had to take a sponge bath because I had to make sure that my injuries didn't get any water on them. I had washed my hair though and I was absolutely refreshed thanks to that.

While I looked at myself in the mirror, I dried my hair with the towel. I was in some of the new clothes that Yamato san had bought for me on the way to his apartment. I wore a pair of dark blue colored baggy pants and I let it hang low on my hips. The ends had elastic just a little above the ankles so it was held in place comfortably. I was yet to put on my shirt though.

Lowering my hands from the towel over my head, I pulled the towel off me so that it was now hanging on my shoulders. I frowned slightly as I looked over myself. I traced the bandages over my entire right side, ignoring the strap of my innerwear that came in between. Several parts of my injured side still hurt – well, they were the places where my injuries were deep and would need more time to heal.

I dropped my hands to my sides as I continued to stare at my reflection. After being defeated by Aizen, I had somehow been transported into an alternate world. A world where humans lived as ninjas. They weren't like regular humans who had some secret stealth, punching or kicking skills though. They had life energy called chakra that they used for different techniques that they called jutsus – possibly chakra attacks. I hadn't seen anyone fight but I was pretty sure that I was in a world where fighting was a very common thing.

I didn't know if there was a way for me to get back to my world and I knew I couldn't ask any of these guys for help in this matter. They already saw me as someone suspicious. I mean, they had apparently sealed off my chakra – the weird black squiggly pattern running around my neck and wrists was proof of that. There were also four ANBU, four of their 'elite' shinobi watching me like hawks! I was sure that one of them was even watching me here in the bathroom and I just hoped that it was a woman doing so.

More than that, I felt bothered by one thing. Despite having rested for three days, despite having so much time to recuperate, I could not feel my usual reiatsu. I was so much weaker than before. I couldn't feel the overwhelming power rushing through my veins. I was almost....subdued.

I touched the small reiatsu limiter tattoo on my right hip. It was warm – clearly indicating that my reiatsu had accumulated there and was being suppressed at the moment. I knew I still had my powers as a shinigami because before I was found by the ANBU in the forest, I was able to release my Shikai for a brief moment. I didn't have my zanpakuto with me now because Tsunade sama said it was a precautionary measure that had to be taken until she felt that I could be trusted. But I could still sense my zanpakuto and that was proof enough that I was still a shinigami.

I suppose I was just a little stronger than a captain level shinigami now. I was definitely not as strong as Yamamoto san or Aizen – that's for sure.

But what had caused me to become so weak? What had caused my reiatsu to fall and remain at this subdued level? Just because I was in a different world, it didn't mean that my reiatsu should decline to this degree, right?

I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard a clatter. I looked at the bathroom door beyond which the sound had come. Yamato san had said that he would get lunch ready while I washed up and the clatter was probably a result of moving crockery around. I had decided to help him with cooking and standing in the bathroom day dreaming wasn't really something I should be doing at the moment.
