Late for a date

Why were they late?

John forgot to check his calendar and slacked off until the last minute to get ready. "Wait, my date is today?!"

Paul was taking a ridiculously long time to decide what to wear for his date. "Hmm, should I put on my plaid tie with my sweater vest or my pink suit with the white frills?" *Five hours later* "OH NO I'M GONNA BE LATE!!!"

George raided the fridge and was too busy eating to notice that time flew by. "Somehow I feel like I'm forgetting something... OH CRAP, MY DATE!!!!"

Ringo (You don't want to know). "AH I'M LATE!!!"

What are their excuses for being late?

John: "I had no idea our date was today, I lost track of the time and came as fast as I could."

Cynthia: "Well that explains why you put on a jogging suit when we're heading to fancy restaurant."

Paul: "Sorry I'm late! I couldn't decide what to wear."

Jane: "It took you almost the entire day to pick out an outfit?... I guess I can believe that."

Pattie: "Since you took so long to get here, I just ordered everything on the menu for you."

George: "I should come late more often."

Ringo: "I didn't mean to be late! I ran out of gas! I had a flat tire! I forgot to get coins for cab fare! A friend of mine came from out of town! Someone stole my car! There was an earthquake! And a terrible flood!"

Maureen: "Damn Ritchie. You're quoting The Blues Brothers and it hadn't even come out yet."
