Captain America, Thor and Gemini battled side-by-side. Evelyn sliced apart Chitauri's, Steve threw his shield at them and tore them apart with it, and Thor used Mjolnir to destroy them. Just as Evelyn turned to fight more, an energy blast struck her down hard, as it did to Steve. Thor ran over to a broken car and swung the hammer, causing the vehicle to flip over and crush a few aliens. Evelyn saw a pair of feet in front of her. She looked up and saw that Thor extended his arm out to her. Evelyn grabbed onto it, and he helped her up.
"Thanks," She mumbled.
"You ready for another bout?" Thor asked Steve and Evelyn.
"What? You gettin' sleepy?" Steve asked.
"Pft, Grandpa," Evelyn nudged Steve in his side.
"I can close it! Can anybody hear me? I can shut the portal down!" Natasha said over the earpiece.
"Do it!" Evelyn said
"No, wait!" Tony said.
"Stark, these things are still coming!" Steve told him.
"I got a nuke coming in. It's going to blow in less than a minute. And I know just where to put it."
Evelyn's breath hitched as she realised what he was about to do. "Tony, no, don't do this to yourself," she said as she saw him come flying down the street with the nuke.
"Evie, you know I have to," he said. "By the way, you're my favourite out of the Avengers."
"I know that, silly. It was kind of obvious," Evelyn laughed. Steve walked up to Evelyn, wrapped his arm around her shoulder, and pulled her towards him.
Tony steered the nuke away from Stark Towers and flew it straight into the sky.
"I'll miss you, shell head," Evelyn said.
"I'll miss you too, Evie. And, do me a favour," he said. "Go out on a date with Capsicle. We all know you two have the hots for each other."
Steve's arm tightened around Evelyn's shoulders, and her face heated up as everyone agreed.
"Alright, Anthony. As you wish."
Tony flew up higher and higher over the city, gaining speed. Suddenly, he flew himself through the portal. The communication died with his suit.
"Tony? Tony!" Evelyn called out. Steve turned Evelyn around to face him and pulled her into his chest as she teared up. The son of her best friend was gone, another Stark gone, and Evelyn had been around for all three of their deaths.

Suddenly, all the Chitauri soldiers and the worm keeled over and began to shake, then stopped. They all died. "Come on, Stark..." Natasha mumbled.
"Close it," Steve said. "Son of a gun!" Steve pulled Evelyn back and pointed towards the sky. She looked up and saw Tony falling towards them. She smiled, happy to see him alive, but it was short lived when she realised he wasn't stopping.
"He's not slowing down," Thor swung Mjolnir around. Just as Thor was about to fly up, the Hulk snagged Iron Man out of the air and slid down a building before landing on the ground near the group.
The Hulk threw Iron Man off of him. Thor, Steve and Evelyn ran over to him. Evelyn ripped off Tony's helmet, looking down at his lifeless face. "Come on, Tony," she mumbled. Then the Hulk roared in fury and startled Tony awake.
"What the hell? What just happened?" Tony exclaimed. "Please tell me nobody kissed me. Well, Evie can be an exception." Evelyn slapped his Iron chest.
Steve leant back and looked at the sky. "We won."
"Alright. Hey. Alright. Good job, guys. Let's just not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day." Tony moved around on the ground. "Have you ever tried shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is, but I wanna try it."
"Yeah, I saw it before," Evelyn said.
Thor looked up at Stark Tower. "We're not finished yet."
"And then shawarma after."
"There's something I need to do first." Everyone turned towards Evelyn.
Evelyn grabbed onto the neckline of Steve's suit and pulled him towards her, capturing his lips in a sweet kiss. Butterflies danced in Evelyn's stomach and tingles spreaded throughout her skin.
"Ewwww, Evie," Tony said. Evelyn let go of Steve with a smile on her face. She opened her eyes and saw him smiling, too. "That's not something I want to wake up to," Tony said.
Evelyn smiled goofily. "Are you alright?" Steve asked.
Evelyn chuckled. "I love you," Evelyn said. He furrowed his brow, but a smile appeared on his face. "I loved you in forty-five, and I've never stopped loving you," she smiled as she cupped his cheeks.
"You love me?" He asked, his face lighting up.
"I love you!" Evelyn laughed and then kissed his cheeks. "I love you, Steve Rogers." She kissed his whole face. Steve's hands went over Evelyn's as he laughed.
Steve smiled back. "I love you, Evelyn. I did back then. And I'm sorry I waited too long to say it." They smiled and went in for another kiss. Everything was finally falling into place.

Loki crawled onto the stairs, looking like he had been through quite the bashing. He took a few deep breaths, then, sensing someone was behind him, turned around to find all of the Avengers staring down at him, pissed.
"If it's all the same to you. I'll have that drink." The Hulk lowly growled at him as Evelyn rolled her eyes.
"Should have taken it when we asked you."

After getting Loki all locked up in confinement, Tony stuck true to his words and took them all out for Shawarma. They all couldn't even be bothered getting changed and just rocked up in their uniforms.
The store owners had already begun cleaning it up when they arrived. They thanked the Avengers for saving the world and gave them free food. Evelyn knew that they were going to be blamed for what happened that day. It's what usually happens in movies. Superman saves the world, and people blame him for it.
