“Actually, I’ve been meaning to ask you something.” Harry said.

“Mmm?” Hermione asked as she drained her glass of butter-beer.

“Well, as you know, or I hope you know, I love you so much and I’m going to treasure these past few weeks for the rest of my life, as I will treasure all my moments I’ve had with you.”

“Aw, Harry that’s so sweet!” Hermione smiled, stood up and proceeded to roll up the picnic rug

“Wait- I’m not finished.”

“Oh there’s more.” Hermione turned back to Harry.

“Well it’s just..when I’m with you Hermione, I feel that happiest I have ever felt and I never want that feeling to leave, so…”

Harry knelt down on one knee. “Hermione Jean Granger…” He took the small box from his pocket and opened it, revealing the ring. “Will you marry me?”

“Uh, Hermione?”

“Yes Harry?” Hermione moved her hand off her mouth.

“Are you ok?”

“Yes I’m fine, why do you ask?”

“Well, it’s just that you haven’t spoken in over four minutes..”

“And?”

“I was wondering if you had an answer.”

“For what? Oh, oh! Right that…”

“So……?”

“Well, I’m still a bit shocked.”

“Oh, that’s fine.” Harry closed the box.

“No, don’t close it!”

“Huh?”

“It’s a yes!”

“What?”

“It’s a yes, yes, I wanna marry you!”

“Really?” Harry smiled widely.  

Hermione nodded, also smiling. “Yes, we’re getting married!” She ran into his arms and he held her tightly. “We’re getting married.” Hermione whispered joyfully. “Married!”

Harry smiled and kissed Hermione’s forehead. “Whenever you want it.”

“Well, it’s nearly Christmas, how about a few days after that?”

“That’ll be perfect.”
