-----------------

"This...isn't you."

"Whatever do you mean, snowflake?" Magnum questioned, grinning, "This is me! I'm the same old Magnum Bhelzirinage from before!"

You growled, "That's where you're wrong. The Magnum I know would never want any harm to come my way, and he would do anything to keep me safe. The Magnum I knew was my best friend, he would never do this, no matter what the circumstances!"

Magnum smirked, "That's where you're wrong, snowflake. Don't you know, people change over time...nobody stays the same after many years."

The Guardian of the Field let out a loud cry before it quickly flew upwards, disappearing into the clouds. Magnum held out his palm before he clenched it and several roots shot out from around you, wrapping around your form. You quickly burnt the roots before you shot an arrow made of flames at the Guardian, who banked to the side, dogding the projectile.

You stared up at the large creature, waiting for when it was a bit closer. When the Guardian was about to hit, you quickly disappeared into a flurry of embers, startling it and causing it to cry out as it stuck out its talons, to try and cushion the fall. It landed with a loud thud and you reappeared above it, several balls of fire appearing and quickly bounding towards the Guardian.

"Guardian!" Magnum hissed.

Irritated that such a puny thing was ordering it around, the Guardian cried out before it quickly got up and glided towards Magnum, intending to attack him instead of you.

"You half-wit!" Magnum yelled, "You're supposed to go after her, not me, you good-for-nothing lug! Turn around and finish her off!"

Magnum's words only aggravated the Guardian, causing it to go at an even faster pace. Now having realized the consequences of his actions, Magnum's eyes widened as he shut his eyes, waiting for the blow.

You quickly disappeared into another flurry of dying embers before you appeared on top of the enraged beast, you hopped towards its right wing before you set your hands on fire and grabbed the wing, burning the pristine, emerald-colored feathers. The Guardian cried out as it lost its balance, about to crash into the ground.

You vanished again, appearing in front of Magnum as the Guardian landed headfirst into the dirt, its body tumbling a few times before it stopped with a loud thud. You sighed in relief before you turned to look at Magnum, who had an astonished look on his face.

"The hell was that for?" he questioned.

Without thinking, you reached out and grabbed his hand, pulling his body towards yours. You pulled him into a hug, burying your face into his chest. Magnum stood still, comprehending the situation and wondering how to respond to it.

"The hell is this for...?"

"I--I can't hurt you," you muttered, "no matter what the circumstances, even if we were to become enemies, I could never hurt you. You're my best friend, Magnum, what do you expect me to do?"

"Sentimentality's always been one of your weaknesses," Magnum muttered, "you have to throw that away, y'know, it's never going to do any good for ya."

"...idiot."

You looked up, only to see Magnum's face, eyes wide in shock as he began to fade away slowly. His body glowed a faint color as he flashed a sad smile.

"I thought you wanted to kill me-?"

"You know the truth, Y/N, you're smarter than that," Magnum said, "this is the work of somebody's 'Historia' if I'm not mistaken."

"...it was too good to be true," you muttered, "ah well, it was nice to see you again, old friend. Even if you wanted to kill me."

Magnum (along with the Guardian of the Field) faded away into nothingness, the remains of the forest Magnum created along with the field (Magnum also created) faded away as well. When the terrain disappeared, you saw the soldiers of Zeref not too far by, and so...

...you followed your intuition once again.

>>TIME SKIP<<

"Sting! Rogue!"

"The others as well!"

You came to an abrupt halt, your eyes widening in shock. Your gut-feeling-thing was right, something was wrong. You walked a bit closer, noticing a few members from Fairy Tail standing in front of Zeref's soldiers.Using your magic, you created little trails of fire that made its way past the members of Fairy Tail, startling them.

"Salamander's magic...!?" one of them exclaimed, "What the hell is he doing here?"

The trails of fire suddenly went at a faster pace, forming a large circle around the soldiers who had taken the members of both Sabertooth and Blue Pegasus hostage. The soldiers looked at the ground before you snapped, and it exploded.

"Wha-!?"

You vanished before you appeared in front of the soldiers, startling them. You glared at each of them, "And just what the hell do you think you're doing with my guildmates?"

"Attack!"

The soldiers in the front row charged towards you, you stayed still and at the last moment, you vanished. The soldiers were startled once again before they looked around, trying to locate you. You quickly attacked them, finishing them off one-by-one, disappearing right after they fell to the ground and reappearing to finish off another soldier.

"Fire Devil's Balefire!"

A large fire appeared, burning a massive amount of soldiers in its wake. Even more soldiers fell to the ground, defeated, you cocked your head to the side, your eyes landing on Sting and Rogue who sat together. You slowly walked towards them, causing the two boys to turn your way.

"Y/N!" the two males exclaimed.

You waved at them before you sat down, leaning against Sting's back. The male grunted in response before ypu heard him sniffle quietly. Your eyes widened in shock before you looked at his face, only to see Sting look away, wiping his tears with his fist.

"Oh my God, are you crying?" you asked.

"No-"

You smacked the back of his head, "Don't you dare lie to me, dammit. I helped you get a girlfriend that one time and this is how you repay me?"

"Sulking is not a good look for you," Rogue said bluntly, "just sayin'."

Yukino and the other guys from Sabertooth walked up to the three of you, their eyes trained on Sting and Sting alone. Yukino grabbed Sting's wrist before she pulled him upwards, slapping him on the cheek after he got to his feet.

"Well then..." you cleared your throat, "...that escalated quickly."
