I groaned as I shut my car door. I really don't want to be here. I locked my car and put my backpack on my back. As I was approaching the school steps, my phone buzzed. I stop and looked at the text. It was from my friend, Charlie, back in ATL. The message read:

Charlie: CALL ME!!!

I found her contact information then call her. It rung once then she picked up.

"Yes chica?" I said as I started walking.

"How is it? I know you miss me." She said.

Truth was, I did miss her. Shit, I missed all my homies.

"I don't know yet. I just got here and of course I miss y'all."

"Awwww..." Lol, I can tell she's smiling like crazy. "What about the school so far? How does it look?"

I took a good look at it. "Well it's pretty big."

"Seriously?" she said sarcastically.

I laughed. "Yea girl, but I'll talk to you later. School's about to start."

"Iight D!" then I hung up, and walked up the steps into the school. There were a lot of people.

See I came from a, kinda, small private school. Nowhere as big as this place. So I'm not use to all the BIG changes. I walked into the office and the lady at the front desk gave me a map of the school and my schedule.

"Thank you." I said to the lady.

"No problem sweetie. And good luck." She gave me a warm smile.

"So what about my teachers?" I asked as I walked to the door.

"They already got the email, just go on to class." She responded. I gave her a smile then walked toward my locker.

Since the halls weren't crowded, because the bell already rang, I found it in no time. I put in the combination and it opened.. I put my backpack and my purse into it. I grabbed my binder and put my map and schedule in it. I grabbed my phone and put it in my pocket. I then closed my locker and made my way to my first period.

I made it to my math class like five minutes later. I got lost a couple of times even tho my locker was on the same floor as my first class.

I walked into the class and almost everyone looked up at me. I walked to the teacher and she smiled.

"You must be Alexandria?" She asked.

"Please call me Dria." I said as I smiled at her.

"Well Dria, welcome to Quenton High." She stopped and looked around the room. "Well there's a empty seat over there. Here's a book and you can just follow us today and talk to me after class."

"Thank you Mrs. Washington." I read her I.D badge.

She smiled then turned to the board. I walked to my seat, which was the second to last row far right. I then focused my attention to the teacher. She was talking about last night's homework and see if anyone did it or if anyone needed help on any questions. Some kids did. I took out my notebook and started doodling and half listening.

"Hey shawty?" Someone said to me.

I followed the voice and it came from this cute light skinned boy on my left. I just looked at him.

"Hey the name's Tay, baby what's yours?" He said.

Now he wasn't so cute anymore. His ego just killed my vibe. I hate niggas that get so caught up in themselves and think they can get any and everybody. Nope, I don't play that.

"Ummmm, I not trying to be mean or anything but can you not talk to me." I asked as politely as I could.

He had a shocked expression on his face, like no one ever turned him down or something.

"Thank you." I gave him a sweet smile then turned back to my doodle. Surprisingly he just turned back around and didn't say anything else.

The rest of class went with the teacher talking about angles and stuff. I wrote down notes as she went along. But I already know what she was teaching. Tay did look at me a couple of times but I didn't pay no attention to him.

I had four more periods left till lunch time. And they all went the same. Me coming in late, talking to the teacher, sitting down and following along, and after class talking to the teacher again. Good thing we have like ten minutes to get to each class. But from all the teachers I've talked to so far, I'm ahead of them in their lesson plans. That's the perks of going to a private school, ha!

It was now time for lunch and I was super excited to go eat! I love food. I walked out of my chemistry class when I was done talking to Mr. Cross, the teacher. I then walked to my locker.

As I was putting my stuff in there, someone came up to me.

"Well, hey there."

I rolled my eyes. "What do you want Alex?" I said without looking away from my locker.

He laughed. "How did you know it was me?"

"I've lived with you for 17 years now, how wouldn't I?" I said as I grabbed my backpack and my wallet. I closed my locker then looked at him.

"Oh, okay. But guess what?" He asked as we walked to the lunch room.

I thought for a second. "Let me think, you made the basketball team?"

"Now Dria, you should know that that hasn't started yet. I made the soccer team." He said with the biggest smile on his face. My brother is in love with sports.

"But you just got here, how did you make the team already?" I asked.

"When I found out what school we would be attending, I contacted the couch and sent him some of my highlights. He told me to hit him up when I came and I did. I had a study hall third period so I went to him then. I showed him some of my skills and he said come to practice tomorrow at four."

I laughed. "Typical Alexander."

"Aye, watch the government there Alexandria." He said.

"Aye, watch the government there twin." I mocked him.

He laughed as we entered the lunch room. There was one main floor, then two flights of stairs that led to two balconies. One on top of the other. It looked like the lunch room from High School Musical and different colors. The colors were black and gold.

"Iight sis, I'll hit you up later." Alex said as he ran off to a group of sports-freaks. Here we go.
